Hi,

I’ve bought a trickle charger as my Huracan is almost dead after 2 weeks of idle. I’m sure the battery also needs a proper charge or replacement.

However, I’ve installed trickle chargers on my older cars in my garage but haven’t a clue how you could go about installing on the Huracan as it doesn’t have an old traditional battery where you can easily connect the charger too.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

Don’t you just plug it into the cigarette lighter, that’s what I do in my 997 TT

Unfortunately the 12v power sockets are not live unless the ignition is on. For our Urus I bought the CTEK and the dealer attached the ringlets to the battery and left the connector sticking out in the passenger footwell. I think thew Huracan's battery is in the frunk, but the dealer will be able to fit.

Thanks. There is no dealership in Ireland so I have to do it myself (or a mechanic).

The battery is in the front and is accessible but I don’t see how the ringlets could connect to it.

It’s dead easy, just attach the croc clips to the battery, (or the negative lead to the wire on the battery cover). Run the wires over the bonnet seal and through the panel gap above the headlights, close bonnet, plug in switch on.. Takes less than a minute!

Google Huracan Battery then look at images - several links to useful photo install threads eg

You have to hard wire directly to the battery.

You can either remove the battery panel in the frunk (middle bottom) if you have small/nimble hands or just remove the frunk liner, which is what I did. Takes 5 mins.

Then the wire just comes out of the battery panel in the frunk

Oh really, I’m currently on the hunt for an LP560 is it the same on those or can you plug it in like the 911?

In my perf there's an access panel in the frunk; remove that panel and there's a couple of terminals to which you attach the trickle charger via crocodile clips.

Now i used to have one of those, and unfortunately the same story. I connected the ringlets to the battery and poked the connector into the frunk as already described

Great, thanks guys.

If it takes someone 5 minutes to fit it, I should get it done in 5 days :-)

I have a Huracan - 2017 - and do exactly this. Takes a minute simply to put the croc clips on, plug it in and off you go.

That said, if your battery is dead after 2 weeks then you may need a new battery. I've left mine undriven for a month with no problem and only put the tricle charger on over the winter for say 3-4 mths when I know I won't be driving it.

Some of the earlier lambos have an isolated switch. Just turn it off and the battery is no longer connected or being drained.
