My First Lamborghini :-)
Discussion
Hi all,
I picked up my first Lamborghini today, a 2015 LP 610-4. I'll be washing it again tomorrow, and will post some pics.
I have been reading up about them for some time, and following a lot of the threads on there, so thank you for the help so far.
I won't be getting the second key and the manual, cover, etc until next week, so i'm trying to figure out a few things, if someone wouldn't mind helping me.
A - Clock: how do you check the time on the clock? (i spent an hour trying to do this :-)
B - Lift: what is the correct way to do it? Do you press it once and then hold it to bring it up, or just press it once. Also, to get it back down, what is the process. I forgot to put it back down when I drove out, and I noticed it went back down after about 500m.
C - Lights: is it possible to have the lights come on when you unlock the car, and the same when you lock it to walk to your house (i have a dark driveway)
D - Key: is there a place to put the key to charge it / rest it when you drive?
E - Top Tips: any other top tips other than getting out and driving it?
I look forward to hopefully contributing to some posts soon, thank you.

I have a 2017 LP 610-4 which I bought new and hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. My car is kept in the UK although I am overseas and do not have access to the handbook at the moment but from memory:
A. To adjust clock press 'Menu' button on centre console. That brings up options on the dash one of which is 'Time'. Bring up the 'Time' menu using the rotary wheel on centre console;
B. Front lift. Operate manually by pressing button once. The lift cannot be used above a certain speed (50 or 60 kph I think) and will automatically lower above this speed. If you are fiddling about when stationary note there is a safety device that stops you lowering with the door open. The scraping you occasionally hear at the front over speed bumps etc is usually the sacrificial rubbing strip that runs the width of the nose under the front spolier;
C. Yes you can alter the light settings. The handbook will show you how. Same idea as the clock. Use the 'Menu' button to show sub menus;
D. Key. No. Daft idea IMHO. There should be a docking slot so you know where the key is and can keep it charged. I change my battery in both keys annually and keep spare batteries in the glovebox. When the battery starts to drain it loses range and then ends up putting out too weak a signal to allow the car to start and you have to offer up the the key to the lower dash roll which in my experience rarely works first time and looks to the outside world as though you are trying to hot wire the car.
E. (1) Ignore the bit in the handbook when you finally receive it that tells you to check the oil every time you fill up with fuel. That is a hangover from the Gallardo handbook. The car does actually have an oil level warning light, Audi style, despite what the handbook says.Just as well really as physically to get to the dipstick/oil filler to check the oil I need to undo 6 bolts with a Torx bit (not supplied in my tool kit) and prise off the engine cover. Unnecessarily annoying if you need to top up on your grand tour. I think the later cars may now have an accessible dipstick/filler; (2) Speedo over-reads more that is typical; (3) Most of the fuel is represented by the top half of the gauge (ie 1/2 to 1/1) and the warning lights encourage you to refill when you get down to 1/4. Probably to keep the fuel pumps cool.
Enjoy!

Anyone know what the replacement cost of the rubbing strip is at the bottom.
I was planning on having someone build me some kind of foldable ramp to stop it scraping but if the price isn’t insane I’ll just live with it.....through gritted teeth!
On Aventador they are about £100 or 150 fitted can’t remember which it was, but not mega moneyI was planning on having someone build me some kind of foldable ramp to stop it scraping but if the price isn’t insane I’ll just live with it.....through gritted teeth!

Super, thanks for the help.
What is the right operating temp to have the car at, before you drive it hard?
Although water temperature is important keep an eye on the oil temperature gauge,What is the right operating temp to have the car at, before you drive it hard?
Don't drive it hard until there is a reading on it, This takes some patients in the winter but worth the wait,
Enjoy

Yes, I will be keeping an eye on both, but what should they both be at when both are fully warmed up? :-)

My Gallardo runs about one third on the water temperature and just below that with the oil temperature, very slightly more on a hot summer day but doesn't make that much difference even in prolonged traffic jams. Yes, I will be keeping an eye on both, but what should they both be at when both are fully warmed up? :-)
Congrats. Looking forward to some pictures!
I have 2015 and have enabled the lights when locking/unlocking feature as well as a number of other hidden items like beep on lock. You need a Carista OBD2 reader off Amazon. Pretty cheap. Plus it into the OBD port and a whole load of dealer settings come up. Easily reversible.
