Availability of Gallardo manual gearbox coupes in UK
Discussion
out of a production of 14,022 gallardo's just over 500 manuals were made ,did read the exact number somewhere but can't seem to find it now, does any know the exact number of r.h.d manuals were made and how many were uk supplied, have tried to get this information with out success, can't understand why a manual ferrari 430 commands 20k to 30k premium over a f1 box depending on mileage and when you consider there will never be a manual huracan and the small production numbers of manual gallardo's there doesn't seem much difference between e-gear box's,under valued or what !,maybe we will all find out in 5 to 10 years time?
We, the British public bought into journo obsession with auto clutches.... As a result, fewer and fewer cars were specd manual... Interestingly when the 550-2 came along, a few manual cars were sold, as they were cheap.... A lot of the manuals would have been us cars, funny that, they still love a stick shift... For example, all 14 UK anniversario cars were specced egear by the dealers, lambo us had all their cars manual.
Re collectability, the Ferrari market is totally different from the lambo market.... Once cars are bought for the nostalgia of driving, then a manual gallardo will be the one to have

I had an appraisal carried out by Lambo specialist on my manual LP560 for agreed value insurance and was surprisingly much higher than expected. couldn't help but notice only 6 manuals out of 85 gallardo's advertised on p.h at the moment but no less than 11 claiming to be manuals when they are actually e-gears , all dealers, why do they do that? surely they are going to notice a pedal and a gear lever missing when they get there or do they think they can talk them around when they arrive, don't think so, you either want a manual or a e-gear,
I have noticed the same, annoying isn't it? I think it is done so anyone looking for a manual at least looks at the advertised car, with the small chance of them being swayed into their e-gear. I have been filtering out e-gear in my search, as would others only looking for a manual.
There is little available, manual Coupe are mostly pre-2006, and a few manual post-2006 which are mostly Spyder. 1 or 2 which tick the boxes are yellow or sky blue - not for me.

lambo brum used to post on here, and confirmed that for a couple of years they didn't sell a single new manual car
personally, i went there to buy a manual and, after various test drives, specified e-gear
This one post tells you that people who like driving buy a manual. personally, i went there to buy a manual and, after various test drives, specified e-gear

i first met andrewd ( that's "d" for diesel, as in the noisy, smelly, unpopular, emissive variant ) in one of his infamous dodgy car parks 'round the back of a garage
andrewd was running around asking if anyone wanted the leaded pump
suffice to say, that he was not talking petrol
hth
