Not everyone’s cup of tea I’m sure but I was wondering if anyone has done this to their car and has pictures.

Most of the pictures I have seen online involve the rest of the car being heavily modded so was hoping some people on here had some less insane variations to share. It’s an idea I’ve been toying with and want to keep it fully reversible.

There’s a Huracan and Aventador Owners’ group on FB. It has a lot of owners and Indies on there who have done and can do these things. Plus a very useful source of advice and info. Here are some pix of the wing in an otherwise unmodified car. I think it looks nice but prefer the naked OEM look.

Thanks for this, I’ll have a look in there. I am very worried about making it look tacky and know what you mean about the OEM look.

Yeah, this. Each to his own, but I've always found the appearance of aftermarket wings and/or body kit on a standard Huracan to be pretty jarring.

Done this to mine, with the 1016 wing and splitter. Mine is the grey one (if it's not obvious!). The wing can easily be switched back as you remove a piece of bodywork and replace it with a piece the wing is attached to. The splitter can probably be taken off as it's glued on. It may mean touching up the paintwork, but don't know as it's not something I've done or plan to do.

As with all these things, it comes down to personal taste. I did it as I wanted it to be a bit different and also as a disincentive to me of losing loads of money on switching it for a Performante! I also had centre locks and a race exhaust put on it at the time of purchase (from new), so a slighty peverse view of spending a bit more on it in order to avoid losing even more by trading it in after 18 months! And ultimately I don't regret it, which is a key thing - but equally appreciate it's not for everyone.

Can I ask those posters who did this, have you noticed any difference to the way it handles with the wing vs without?

No difference such that I've noticed, but then I'm only driving it on the road and not that aggressively as a result.

I always wondered if these add on parts are tested properly and what their effect is at high speeds - one would not want the car to become unstable by upsetting the balance front to rear I'd imagine (also wouldnt want a splitter/wing to take flight at 180 mph)

Never you mind

I put a GT2 wing on my 911 turbo. The wing was only effective at 127MPH which on a public UK road would see you in court. Never tried it on a track though.

I do a big autobahn trip once a year where there are opportunities to do these speeds (safely and legally of course!) so wondered this myself. Any imbalance in the aero could be lethal.

Exactly, even if there’s no downforce created by the wing, just the drag could cause the front end to be lighter than intended??

it is probably not all that relevant if you don’t live in Germany, but at least something to keep in mind. I do high speeds very regularly, so would likely look for a product that is TÜV approved, I‘d hope that gives some comfort that it has been tested properly for higher speeds as well

The spoiler on the green car is by Mansory and TUV approved, never noticed any front lift problems at speed in the 3 years I owned it.
