Hi, does anyone know the car ? Supercar Rooms blue fontus Gallardo? It's priced well, but have learned that the clutch is showing 100% wear, should i walk away???? I love the colour and the SL wing. I was looking for a car with lifting system, but have since learned it isn't vital, what are peoples thoughts. Also is the mileage an issue, nearly 50k

thanks

50k miles is a lot so the car needs to be cheap to reflect the hit you will take when you eventually sell

Clutch will be £3k-£4K and must be done, repeat must be done before that car is sold.

Lifting gear not required. My G Spyder doesn’t have it and I have no issues, pretty much the same as my old 430 Spider

why would a reputable dealer try and sell a car with "100% wear" on the clutch ? who exactly said this ?

lifting gear should have been standard given how little it cost. personally i use it on every journey

interesting how creased the driver's seat looks ( easily sorted ! ) when my worry was that alcantara might age badly

cars are nicely run-in at 50k, but it will scare potential buyers off, both now and when you sell

I use lift on mine constantly. If I were you I would get one with it on. It is needed.

so many conflicting opinions on lift, some say they never use it, some all the time! The car won't be a daily driver, so won't see multi story car parks etc....the R8 I was looking at had no issues with speed bumps, so is the Gallardo so much lower????

Think Gallardos are lower than an R8. Mine is still in storage otherwise I would have measured it from floor to the bottom bit of the bumper. Mine doesn't have problems with some speed bumps though with some it does. It does have a problem with my local petrol station having a very steep exit.

Gallardo is definitely lower at the front than the R8, I never caught my R8 on any slope but have to use the lift on my Gallardo.

Never use the front lift on my LP gallardo apart from when I'm jacking it up from the rear - front lift stops the front bumper from being tilted into the ground.

Ideally you need the front lift, so you never have to worry about taking it anywhere. The glass engine cover is also something I would look for.

yes clear engine cover is part of the supercar feel, I'd want to see that engine, the spyder doesn't interest me at all

Don't have on mine (owned 8 years - crazy it's been that long!) and never had an issue - it gets used a lot in all manner of awful parking garages! smile

Each to their own, but have you driven a spyder with the roof down? You can’t look at the engine while driving. You can however listen to it. It’s not a bad sound.

I have lift, but I don’t think I have ever used it. I do raise and lower the lift periodically though, just to keep everything working, but that is all.

Having said that, I would definitely look for it, because if you don’t have it Sod’s law will ensure you will end up in a situation when you could do with it!

Gallardo is much less mileage sensitive than the prancing horses and to be honest a car of around 10 years plus with about 50k is only averaging 5k per year, so hardly high. The cars are much happier for being driven regularly rather than pieces of static baubleage. Don’t be put off. Full service history is a must though.

Happy Hunting.
