Hello

On my 2010 Lp560 the reverse camera doesn’t show a distance grid...
I had found an web site that shows a distance grid on their Gallardo ....

http://automotiveintegration.com.au/blog/lamborghi...

Do I need to activate this grid by way means of a button, maybe on the head unit?

Thanks

That is an aftermarket solution. Factory reverse camera does not have the grid.

I would agree it's an aftermarket solution due to the location of the camera.

I can't remember the grid being present on the factory fitted reserving camera.

I looked at the link too, and thought it odd. AFAIK, the wing-mounted camera was standard fitment from the first update to the pre-LP cars (ie: when the 5.0 litre engine was tweaked from 500bhp to 520bhp). Thus, only the first couple of years of production didn’t have them. (Like mine, but that was sorted when I ditched the rather clunky RNS head unit.) But the link shows an LP-era car (allegedly) with a cameraless wing.

Would a rear-view camera be illegal in some markets?

Never mind camera’s location, it is obviously after market in the first line of the marketing blurb...

“Using the highest quality parts, Automotive Integration has a retro-fit rear view camera system for the factory Lamborghini RNS navigation system”

No Gallardos have a grid on the camera view as OEM fitment. In fact the camera view is pretty shocking in terms of resolution generally, especially when you consider the cost of that particular option at the time.

It doesn’t bother me much though...I don’t spend a great deal of time looking backwards...

I tried the camera the first day I got the car and never used it again. On both. Shocking resolution, more likely to hit something!
