Hello all,

I have an 06 plate E-gear Gallardo that has lived in Portugal most of its life, it is now in UK.

Since being here I have been made aware of a strange problem, when maneuvering at slow speeds in full lock the front wheels feel like they are slipping and the car in understeering. It happened slightly in Portugal but is happening really badly here.

I have a theory that the tyres are dried out and with the warmer temperatures in Portugal this wasn't a bad problem but now it is in a cold climate it is more pronounced.

There is no mechanical noise just a feeling of the tyres slipping.

Anyone have any insights?

Thanks.

exactly the same happens with mine

just a consequence of trigonometry and wide tyres

replacing the drive with gravel helps !

‘They all do that sir!’

Only in this case it is true, 2 x Gallardos and 2 x Huracans so far in my ownership, and andrew is correct gravel driveway helps.

Enjoy your lovely car, I hope it has acclimatised to the UK weather though.

My R8 does the same, I believe it's "normal"

Yep, normal. My SL2 does this. Nothing to worry about.

Never you mind

My LP560-2 does this as well so it's not limited to the 4WD ones. Oddly enough the AMG did it as well until I changed the tyres from Dunlop to Michelin.

I get this on my lowly Audi A6. I think tyres are a factor. My last A6 had 19" rims and it had none of this. But I moved up to a car with 21s and I can feel the slippage on full lock.

Thanks for all the reaasurance guys. Temperature definitely plays a part in it as it wasn't very noticeable in Portugal but here it is terrible.
