Gallardo SL at Motorhub. Am I mad?
Discussion
Looking for gen.1 Gallardo Superleggera for some time now. I have some specific options I need ticked, and haven't found the right one.
I am in Europe and need LHD. Saw the grey LHD SL at "Motorhub", and like the spec.
However, it took 2min with google to learn that I should just RUN away!
Now, after not finding the right spec elsewhere, I am starting to wonder, if the CAR is OK, maybe I should consider to take a look..? I am getting mad?
Anybody seen it IRL?
I actually wonder, was it Twin turboed at some time? Based on the odd hole for intercooler in the front bumper?

I don't know the dealer, but as you did, I have read multiple stories about them. Having said that, I guess if you do your DD and get it checked out by somebody who knows about these cars (incl looking for any indication of crash damage, health of the engine etc), I guess it should be fine. A car is a car and if it checks out, no reason not to buy it just because the dealer has an iffy reputation...

They do have a poor reputation, but as OP said above, if you have the car independently inspected and it's satisfactory or needs items addressed (which could give you some room for negotiation)...then go for it.Full inspection and that will decide for you whether to proceed.
MOT expiry last October is unimportant. Its the condition that counts. MOT does not give it a clean bill of health.
Dont walk away without having done some further enquiry. The internet is very good for communicating service failures not successes. So there maybe an unfair bias when you look on the internet.

Some more discussion here - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=16... (which mentions that the boot lid, £7k IIRC, isn't carbon - it certainly doesn't look right in the rear shot - seems to have a piece running down the center which isn't stock).
