I could only get hold of the regular Pirelli P-Zero 'L' fitment tyres front and rear.
The P-Zero Corsa tyre for 'L' fitment is not in production.

Let me know when you find some as I need some new tyres as well and I am not allowed to buy the F1 style ones. Though to be honest they don't come in Gallardo size as the moment.
What's the difference between the Audi fitment and the Lambo one and has anyone put Pilot Sports on? Had them on my Porsche and they where great.

Only fit the Lambo fitment. The tyre has been designed for that specific model and tuned to match the handling characteristics including side wall stiffness. Fitting the wrong tyre could cause premature wear on the tyre and affect the handling. What's the difference between the Audi fitment and the Lambo one and has anyone put Pilot Sports on? I'm pretty sure this manufacturer specific fitment thing with tyres is bullst marketing crap. Are we really expected to believe there is material difference between an Audi, Lambo, Porsche "Spec" of exactly the same tyre? The implication being that tyre manufacturers have to tool up for a myriad of different manufacturers for a wide range of sizes for each class of tyre? I don't think so.
Also, has anyone actually got any experience whatsoever of deviating from the correct "Spec" and done any damage at all to their car or had any kind of accident directly attributed to not having the correct "Spec"?

I'm not! I've taken my Gallardo from 44,600 to 92,700 mikes in four years. Bought it on Contis that were horrid. Switched to L marked P-Zeros that were great. Tried non-L P-Zeros that were awful. I've run it on L marked Pirellis ever since. They're produced in batches and yes, they do differ from other specs. It's down to the sidewall stiffness. Buy the L marked tyres.

The "L" on tyres is just a co-marketing partnership with Pirelli and Lambo.
If this were the case, then L-marked tyres would have a price premium. They don't. Why would Pirelli stop the machines and swap the moulds from say N1 or N2 (Porsche) or AM8 (work it out for yourself!) to L, and then charge pretty much the same price as the generic, non-type specific tyre of the same size. I've covered tens of thousands of miles in my car, on both L and non-L tyres and will happily state that the difference in feel when the tyre is loaded is huge. I used to run a F355 as a daily driver. Long after they'd stopped producing them for any other vehicle, Bridgestone still produced the Battleaxe for Ferrari. And they charged relative peanuts for them, despite the cost to them of small-batch production.

It is just co-marketing. Makes it easier for Pirelli (Italian company) and Lambo (Italian company) to sell you their tyres if you "need an L".
Michelin PSS, without an L, fit the Gallardo and others just fine.
Simply make sure the rolling radius is the exact same.
It's not marketing, the L version of the P Zero will have gone through testing and changes for the Gallardo, which makes it the BEST P Zero for the Gallardo.Michelin PSS, without an L, fit the Gallardo and others just fine.

Just because it's the BEST P Zero for the Gallardo, doesn't automatically mean it's the BEST tyre option. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport / 4S has proven to be an excellent tyre on many vehicles, even when not OE marked.
Fitting a non-L marked tyre doesn't mean your car will blow up. If there's supply issues, IMHO Michelin would be the smarter choice than the non-marked P Zero.
This is a simplified chart from Pirelli, the line being the generic P Zero (not PZ4) and the bubbles were Lamborghini move the performance.

I'm sorry, I still don't buy it. The sheer cost to tyre manufacturers of setting up bespoke tooling for specific models/marques to vary "sidewall stiffness" by tiny amounts on limited production runs would mean tyre costs would be significantly higher than "standard" tyres of the same type produced in larger runs. The costs of manufacturer rated tyres are actually the same. So the logic tells me that the rating is more marketing than science. Would be interesting to hear from an independent specialist in this area to bust the myth or otherwise. Not much point asking Lambo or Pirelli, as they have the same hymn sheet.
I have heard of many people , some of whom posted above, that are running alternatives without issue. I raise this because what do you do when you need new tyres and the L rated Zeros or Corsas in my case are not available...? Seems silly that I would effectively have to mothball the car until Pirelli decide to produce more for the UK at some point when a pig might fly.....

That makes no sense. There is no premium for the L marked tyre and Pirelli effectively do themselves out of a sale when the model specific tyres are not available rather than say .. "any PZero will do."Michelin PSS, without an L, fit the Gallardo and others just fine.

Rather than blindly spout nonsense, do a little reading.
Actually as I need some new tyres I have noticed that on Black Circles there is a slight price difference between the Audi ones and the L marked ones. Only £20 or so.
My fronts have about 1mm left same as the rears so I could do with getting some probably before the MOT. I Might chuck PSS4 on it and see how it goes.
