Hi folks,

My 570-4 SL is due for it's annual service - it's now done 11K miles. I've been told that as it 4 years old that it now needs the belts changed.

If it needs doing then that's fine but can anyone confirm this is the case, and also provide a figure as to how much they paid via an official Lamborghini dealer.

Just wanting to make sure the info is correct and I'm paying roughly the right amount.

Thanks,

GoM

have you checked the schedule in the service book? for timing the Gallardo has chains not belts....

I got my two year service done at London, very happy, I asked for my wheels to be cleaned off car, and they were!!!

4 year service requires both diffs servicing, Polly vee belts changing, replace tensionors, fuel filters,A/C service, replace plugs, oils, partial strip of engine apparently 15 hours labour and about £3000/3500

As has been said above, the valve gear is chain driven. The only belts are ancillary drives. If someone's telling you that you need to replace the timing belts then I'd be very suspicious of their knowledge.

I've checked the schedule in the service book and you're right about it being Poly-V belt and belt tensioners - down to my lack of knowledge rather than duff info from the dealer. The rest seems to be plugs, engine oil and various filters. The price also seems to be in the right ball park which is good news.

It's my first Lamborghini so I'm still building up my knowledge of service requirements, costs etc. Hopefully, there won't be a post in a week or so about selling limbs, organs and children to pay for an annual service.

Thanks for the replies, it's appreciated.

Try Autofficina in Ewell. Nice bunch of guys and they know what they're talking about. Last time I was there they had an F40 which they look after for a customer and were just putting the V12 back into Countach after a rebuild.

Just had my 570 SL in for the four year service at a main dealer. The service replaced the spark plugs, air filters, cabin filter, engine oil and engine oil filter. The cost was about £2,500. (MOT was extra)

The belt was inspected, but is only changed if required (I had supplied one, but it wasn't fitted).
I was told that gearbox oil and front diff oils are done on a year 6 service. I was also told that year 4 does not have brake fluid included as that is part of a year 3 service.

The original cost was £3,050 but you call around collect the different prices and negotiate

I had them send me the service schedule as I thought they had the costs mixed up for a small and large service, but no, the cost was correct!

Cool - so it's not just me that thought there was a mix up initially. I was expecting around £1.5K for the service but when they said £2.4K I was surprised. Hence the post, obviously it's never going to be cheap and I want to make sure the car is well looked after. I never cut corners when it comes to looking after my cars.

However, it's still pretty cheap compared to the cost of the Super Trofeo exhaust that's being fitted.... :-) Can't wait...
