My Swiss LHD car, which I owned when I lived over there, and which Clarkson drove in the "best driving roads" episode of Top Gear, is really very good indeedalternatively, listen to andrewd banging on about how good his ( lhd ) import is

AndrewD, Do I remember good that the car Clarkson drove in that particular episode, what is now your car, is one of the very few hand shifted Superleggeras?SpeedBuzz said:
Would you be concerned if it was on the higher mileage side for its year?
The Pangbourne one is 39k miles which is above average, I am thinking of taking a look but the mileage has kind of made me think again as I like using and enjoying my cars.
mine's on 45k and running better ( and noisier ! ) than ever : these cars don't like sitting aroundThe Pangbourne one is 39k miles which is above average, I am thinking of taking a look but the mileage has kind of made me think again as I like using and enjoying my cars.

39k miles or 39k kms? If it's a Singapore car won't reading be in km or have you already converted? The Pangbourne one is 39k miles which is above average, I am thinking of taking a look but the mileage has kind of made me think again as I like using and enjoying my cars.
But even if miles it's still less than 5k miles a year, which isn't that much. What would you consider to be a low mileage car?
Buying an import is not a problem. Neither is LHD.
Speedo will be in KM which is annoying but you can have the actualy facia chnaged for a small amount. the "mileage" i.e odometer reading will still be in KM though but that doesn't really matter.
Get the car checked over and if it's good buy it!

Very tempted by this one... What's wrong with it?

i don't recognise the car : possibly a far eastern import, although it doesn't ( now ? ) have the usual singaporean "enhancements" ?http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/l...
price is low
dealer is not what you might call a marque specialist - get it inspected properly by someone who is
( production numbers are the usa import numbers with my guess at ten white cars worldwide added ! )

i am a fan of the gallardo but it doesn't escape me that they were coming up with a wide manner of 'special editions' to sell them in the end. i owned and ran a balboni for a while and found it fantastic (e gear), i remember at the time thinking if only the interior was more like the sl and then this thing would be more interesting shaving even more weight. this car looks like just that, and i would be tempted but i have that feeling that gallardo values will just keep going down until they are 50k and even the 'special' variants will suffer great depreciation not as bad as 50k mind. all said and done i would still love to own one of these for a little and experience it again.

Gallardo's Gen1 have already been down to £50k, now you would find it difficult to pick one up for less than £70k. All Gen1s and specials are increasing, with Gen2s non-specials not moving much, so in the short term I disagree.I'm sure at some point there will be a price correction across all marques. You'd have to be bonkers to spend £280k on a 360CS or £180k on a 997GT3RS.
