Im still not sure how we got to this point actually if I am honest.
I started off wanting a 430 F1 as very keen to try the flappy paddle set up, I have been more than happy with the brand and built up a good relationship with the servicing guys at TFC, I started with a budget of say 75 which should get a nice 430, then looked as I had done before at the Gallardo as I always fancied one, they hold there money exceptionally well (like the 430)and same budget of 75 gets a nice 07 ish car, I couldnt find a 430 with all the toys I wanted in the right colour and started to get impatient, a nice yellow spyder 45 mins from me came up so I went to view it, by the time I did my due diligence and fanied around I missed the car, I then rang the main agents in search for a car and got offered a lovely 09 car for 85 which was over my budget, I thought about it for a few days and for 80 you can get a pretty much perfect 08 430 albeit I still couldnt find one, more frustrated I agreed 80 on the 09 car to find that it had been sold.
I looked at Murcielago but most early (read cheap)cars are manual and dont think it will fit my garage anyway.
So now I am at 85 max in my head for a perfect car, trouble is you can get an early 08 LP for what looks like 90 albeit with high miles and a not very nice colour, also non LP cars are anything up to high 90's, surely your better off paying early 90's for an LP over a non LP ?.
so now in my head I have to have an LP at 90, but the man maths tells me for just a few dollars more etc etc, colour was also important to me a Lambo has to be a loud colour, once I had missed the 80k 09 car I tongue in cheek bid 85 or similar for a perfect 2010 car, then I saw what I ended up buying the orange beast above and fell in love, I looked at 599's as well and put up a wanted add for a 12C but visually nothing comes close to my Orange one, I started a dialogue and bit of cat and mouse with the vendor and the rest was history as they say, I tried not to get sucked into it all but I am a week man and could not help myself
the very limited (still trying to find out how many)build numbers of the 550-2 also helped as i dont see how they cant become sought after in the future, so really it was a rough LP for 90 or this for not a lot more if you say it fast !
Collecting saturday as said and really cant wait to try it out.
Regardless of what happens value wise or anything else I personally think you have to go a long way to beat the impact the car has on me everytime I look at the pictures, nothing else has that wow factor.
Regards
