I have only driven a 2007 car, are the early cars still good? I hear buy an 06 on car as they are better etc etc.

On the other hand I hear from people to buy on condition and the early cars are good too as they will be sorted clutch wise. Suspension changed are minimal and another 20bhp is also minimal.

Only interested in manual cars.

Interested to hear owners thoughts.

Thanks

Have a read of this. The gearing changes made a big difference to low speed driving. Reliability got better as the years went on, so I would say get the latest car you can afford.

The car he's posted is a manual, so none of the early E-gear issues. I'd definitely suggest a later car though.

no, what i meant was the gearing ratios were changed 04 to 06..... in the early cars the gears were very long, first would take you over 60, even in a manual, that made traffic and parking a right mare..

Thanks for this. Interesting.

I have been told that the engine problems were caused by cats breaking up?

Yes it is mine and is on S.O.R .... I was also after a manual but wanted a spider and when looking there were no manual spiders available..... test drove 3 others before buying this car due to the condition and spec (fully loaded).... once you get used to the egear... it is fun - especially when in sport mode.... all i am saying is try an egear (a good example) ..it is still involving) - i like involvement in my cars (come from s1 elise/ boxster s etc) - just need to free up some cash so i am selling it.....i would even consider buying it back next year.... good luck in your search they are fantastic usable and reliable cars..

nothing wrong with the service offered by the original agent/business ...... I had a trader call me (m3 specialist in wigan.. wont name and shame as they advertise on here (assshole)...wanted the car and agreed a price over the phone....he made arrangements to collect so i took the car back to my home and waited .....after promising to come down on 2 different days......didn't show..... got a call from the current s.o.r agent and decided to go to them due to a much more reasonable fee..........
lesson learned.....do not treat a so called respected trader any different than joe public.....

original trader - 5% of retail/sale price - was a bit concerned with that, but they advertised the car at 75k and still got inquiries - current trader - set fee 1k - fairly big difference! - tried to sell it myself but all the genuine inquiries wanted a px or finance.... seems its fairly rare to buy outright with cash as i did so i thought i would leave it to the traders....current outfit the car is with seems to have a no nonsense professional approach and i was quite impressed....

Good luck with sale mate.

Im a cash buyer but with a budget of 65k or will do more with finance if the perfect car comes up. Perfect car would be orange/yellow/black manual car.

5% seems a fair number I paid similar £ selling my 360, £1k is very cheap.
I did look at a 360 for sale at the cheap place but it had over an inch of water in the bottom of it smile

no probs ......i know when someone actually views it or compares it with others like i did...it will go ... i was after a black spyder originally ....but the only equal black car to mine at the time was 8k more.....oh yeah make sure the power steering line recall has been done on your car (when you pick one)...if you want proper attention get a orange one (i used mine everywhere and parked everywhere) so wanted a dark color that wouldn't stand out at night....... great cars and positive attention from everyone....things go to plan i would like a lp640 in a year maybe... but if not would be happy being back in my car.....enjoy you're hunt!

TISPKJ ............ fantastic car you have just bought .... i would like to drive one like yours and compare against a 458 i recently drove........ with regards to S.O.R .... i had a call from traders daily offering this service to me from all over the U.K ...with varying pricing strategies...is easy money for them.... making money on part ex/finance and the car...... current outfit low fee due to the business owners premises being his own rather large property with multiple barns and working areas....very impressive set up to be fair.....car not sold probably due to time of year rather than anything else........lp550-2..... very nice... lp640/lp570/458 .....maybe lp550-2 on my wish list for next autumn..... was so impressed with all aspects of the gallardo, they are hard to ignore ..
