Gallardo on track

I have a 2013 LP-570 SL and am thinking of getting it on track.
Do any of you Gallardo owners (esp. SL) track your cars and if so do you have any experiences/anecdotes to share.
Interested in:
Noise issues
Tyre choice
Geometry alterations if possible
Roll cages/harnesses
Other
Many thanks.
I've taken my car out on track once so far, unfortunately I'm far too tall to sit in it comfortably with a helmet on(might be worth checking the fit yourself if you're over 6ft) so its unlikely it'll be out on track again.Do any of you Gallardo owners (esp. Noise issues - I failed the static noise test miserably(lp560 stock exhaust) however they let me out on track for a driveby test which I passed.
Tyre Choice - standard pzeros did well but the fronts got pretty chewed up quite quickly.
Rollcage - I believe Reiter engineering do a hoop for the rear shelf.

Maybe you should put in a bid for this at Silverstone Auctions this weekend:
I'd love that, cheaper than a road car too if the estimate is right. Sadly I don't know where you could run it unless you put some serious silencers on it.threesixty said:

It would be very helpful for others if you could confirm what value test you failed, what you actually registered and what the drive-by was & which track & operator etc ie any specific informationTalking from a purely racing side of the fence, I wouldn't suggest anyone track their Gallardo for the following reasons.
1) It isn't fast enough for the money spent.
2) Chances are it will get wrecked.
3) Maintenance costs are way to high for the fun factor.
You have two types of people who would do such a thing.
1) The person who is well off and wants to track his car having worked incredibly hard to afford it and wants the odd weekend bit of fun.
This person probably couldn't afford the risk of destroying the car or cope with the loss of having it wrecked.
2) The person who is loaded and the cost of the car doesn't bother him.
This person wouldn't bother with the Gallardo as there are loads of other cars that are way faster and more fun on the track.
Just my 2p worth.

Sorry, not a track day regular and can't remember the db i registered. I was never given my drive by db just informed that I passed. Track was snetterton!Tracking any roadcar ruins the suspension, brakes, tyres, bodywork and engine.
Even 15mins and a few laps of racing can cause problems.
If you have an emotional attachment to a car, tracking is just not worth it.
If it is just a lump of metal -- go for it. Ragging it at near-200mph on a sunny day is about as good it gets
