Gallardo glass engine cover
Discussion
You can have mine for £20,000! I think it involves a bit of further ducting and heat management, not quite the direct swap. Be prepared for hand marks around your rear wings from people learing at the V10! I love the visibility, be interested in a detailed quote as I am looking at a newer one with a metal boot and would want to swap it out?
You could try a Hong Kong copy in Carbon:

No idea n quality though!

A subjective thing, but in my view the Gallardo just does not suit a glass engine cover. It was not originally intended to have one and being completely flat it always looks aftermarket unlike the comparable Ferraris where it is part of the styling. Add to that the lunatic cost, the problem with heat dissipation, the added weight and the occasional shattered glass and to my mind it just does not make sense.
If GBP5,000 or whatever means that little maybe give it to the Red Cross to help the poor desparate bu**ers in The Philippines and feel rather better about yourself than wasting it mucking up your Gallardo on a bit of chav bling.
Well, that is just my opinion and, I should, add, my Gallardo is as God and its designer intended.

Nonsense. Lighter too at a guess - even with CF wing!If GBP5,000 or whatever means that little maybe give it to the Red Cross to help the poor desparate bu**ers in The Philippines and feel rather better about yourself than wasting it mucking up your Gallardo on a bit of chav bling.

Completely agree with you - glass cover is tasteless. My Gallardo is also as God and its designer intended. If GBP5,000 or whatever means that little maybe give it to the Red Cross to help the poor desparate bu**ers in The Philippines and feel rather better about yourself than wasting it mucking up your Gallardo on a bit of chav bling.

hiding such an engine under a solid bonnet is like keeping your pretty girlfriend in a shed
And fitting a glass engine cover is like taking her out in public without her clothes on.
