Saw this car parked up in Bothwell Services just outside Glasgow today at 12.45pm. Presume it's been sold now?

Did you end up getting the car back before Xmas?

What a joke, so this guy didn't get his car back?

He should take a trip over to the dealers place for a 'test drive'. I wonder what would happen if he 'took' it back?

Possession really does appear to be 9/10ths of the law . . .

Who's car is it?

the person named on the V5
the person who has their private plate on the car
the company who took out the finance on the car
the rental company who hired it out
the poster who is none of the above but claims its his

Serious question - how do you prove sole ownership of a vehicle? I was interested in this car but wasn't comfortable given the uncertainty caused by all the different parties with an interest in the vehicle.

To be honest I have no idea. He has not stated the result of the pre-Christmas legal dispute; perhaps for a reason.

If it went legal 5-6 months ago, I would expect him to have his car back and no dealer 'in the know' would touch it. Especially considering he's advertising on PH.

Personally, if I had £75k spare and was seriously interested in the car, I would ask the dealer straight up about ownership issues. They may be able to shed some light on the situation or perhaps you'll be doing them a favour . . . In any case, if they are a long standing reputable business, I'm sure you would have legal come back on them if an issue were to arise.

As you say, there must be more to it.

I am sure its all been resolved now given its with a dealer.

The issue I highlighted was when it was being sold privately before this post started.

I am curious to know to ensure I check everything corectly the next time I buy a car privately.
