I think it's maybe because I have had two Gallardo's over the past few years, and have got bored with them. I think I was expecting a new interior or something. The exhaust does sound very nice, and it's very quick and feels a lot more refined than earlier cars. but I would still have the Maclaren over it by a long way.
Yeah I guess if you have been there, got the T shirt and DVD the car hasn't changed a huge amount, well at least visually. LP models are apparently a big improvement on the earlier stuff but I wouldn't know. But like Astons vantage or DBS if it looks so good to start its difficult to change it for the better.
Without doubt its a bit dated now compared with the McLaren and 458 but the car just makes me smile and giggle evrytime I think about it. Personally I couldn't get any fun from the McLaren as good as it was it felt numb and boring. Fast and you would probably end up losing your licence but I don't need or want that.
There isn't a right or wrong answer as all these cars are at the top of the game so its just down to personal preference and what you want from the car for yourself. Thats why its imperative to drive them all and see which one suits you personally.
I just hope the car manufacturers can engineer some fun back into the latest modern cars without doing warp speed or else the Lambo may become a totally unexpected keeper to accompany my F355 GTS.
Be interested to hear your final thoughts before she goes back, but I guess you wouldn't have had the initial wow I had since you've had Gallardo's before

I know what you mean about the Maclaren being a bit numb, I bought a 430 spider last year, I really loved it for about a month, then I totally went off it, that felt numb, I blame the flappy paddles! I sold it after 3 months. maybe I would feel the same about a Maclaren. I'd love to find out if someone has £200k spare they could give me!But like Astons vantage or DBS if it looks so good to start its difficult to change it for the better.

No point buying one for a month if you can have it on hire FOC lolEnjoy and it could be worse it could of been a Nissan Micra in a chamaeleon colour you had to drive

I would say it's hard to comment if you have only driven the car for a short period of time. I drove a Rosso Mars Performante through Italy over 700 miles and it was a fantastic experience ! Chewing up Aventadors and other V12 Product on the mountain roads. The Gallardo is not about what the sat nav looks like it's how it drives and sounds !

Hi, I am - love the car - will try and buy yours when your ready to sell.
You'll definitely love this car, v low miles and immaculate. I may well be selling this in the spring (have my eye on something else), so if you're serious, I'll give you a shout.Have to say Sevenoaks (Allan and Steve) gave a fantastic service and experience.

Oh no I hope your not like me - start looking for the next one as soon as the latest one arrives ?Have to say Sevenoaks (Allan and Steve) gave a fantastic service and experience.
From a depreciation point of view wouldn't you of been better sitting tight on your money and buying what you have got your eye on ? without the stepping stone. Buying the convertible in winter and selling in the spring kinda seems a little mad. The other way round I could understand but even so thats still going to cost you more money.
Whats caught your eye if you don't mind me asking, its got to be something really special or a classic ?

No more special than the performante but it wasn't "available" at the time I bought this. If it becomes available, I will sell/trade this one back. If it doesn't become available, it's a keeper.
I didn't want to risk losing both.
Yeah I understand. I'm use to buying and selling quite regularly and I'm involved in the trade working for a Car manufacturer so I know how it all works.I didn't want to risk losing both.
I didn't want to miss out on my Performante despite the fact I had promised to wait 6 months before re-entering the market. I never went there to buy it nor the MClaren or 458 which was top of my list but once I saw and heard it the test drive was just a formality.
It was too good a car to walk away fromand I don't think it would of stuck around for long. To be fair the dealer said he would buy it back from me in 6 months for what I paid for it so I was happy with the deal and timing.
Who knows if any will be available come spring and what price they might be up for.
The only thing I might eventually change it for is a 458 spider but I can't justify £220k at the moment
I think we should all stick together and hype up the prices of Performantes just like all the Challenge Stradale owners and their "£200k" price tags

Well I have one in white, a 2012 Nov registered car from Lambo 7Oaks bought brand new buy me, so there's a start to your register :0
Mines also registered Nov 2012, Mars Red and from the ads there appears another 2 Nov 2012 cars. What was it buy 1 get 1 free or something that month ? Even more strange is the time of year to be registering a new convertible SimonMorris said:

Whats your view on the car a year into ownership ?. I've hardly driven mine since I bought it and the first time I did the Boys in Blue stopped me for no front number plate so until I've sorted the bracket, a small number plate, transfer a private plate etc... and get all the paperwork back from DVLA it could be another couple of weeks before I feel comfortable about going and having some fun.
Very frustrating at the moment
