328 GTS - 1986
Discussion
Hi, does anyone on here own a 328 GTS which has key operated central locking? As per the original factory spec.
The owners manual states I should be able to put the key in either door, and it will open the other door.
But in my car the central locking only operates on both doors if I use the key in the drivers door - putting the key in the passenger door doesn't open or close the drivers door.
I am told my car operates as normal, so the manual is either wrong or I have a problem.
Like all Ferraris I don't want to be replacing things unless I know there is a problem.
better still, if someone lives near Bristol, I'd love to come and have a look at your car!

Ive checked my 'yellow' manual and it has a serial number of 513/88 - 9/88 - 1.1000.
I'm assuming this means its for a 1998 car, whereas I need a grey owners manual for my 1986 car?
Interesting, but according to the spare parts catalogues it doesn't show that there were any changes in the central locking system over the life of the car, but the manuals are showing that it moved from a drivers' only operation (1986) to operation on both doors (1988)??

There were quite a few technical changes on the ABS cars. Mine was a 1986.I'm assuming this means its for a 1998 car, whereas I need a grey owners manual for my 1986 car?

Every day is a school day....
Looking at different spares catalogues, I'm now sure that the central locking was upgraded after chassis no 67999. From that date (after my car) the central locking worked on both doors - passenger and driver.
Theoretically, I'm left with two choices:
Buy a 1986 owners manual (about £250+) so my current car and the manual match or...
Buy a post-67999 master door locking actuator (about £450?) so my my car matches my current owners manual.
(only kidding) but at least I have solved my mystery.
Thanks for the support and advice
