Valerio Viccei was arrested in it on Bayswater Road in 1987, and this later photo suggests the windscreen which was shot out by the police was repaired and it went to BCA.

Early single mirror Testa in black, lovely. My friend's Dad had a very close reg on his Blue Sera one just a few numbers out so Maranello supplied I think.

Here is some background info, Viccei was trying to export the car to Colombia

Anyone know what happened after that?

Interesting that it is showing on the Govt. MOT website although has yet to have it’s first MOT. Wonder if it is parked up somewhere awaiting restoration?

There's basically no information about it on the internet. I remember seeing the newspaper photos after the shootout in 1987 then nothing.

There were reports that the reason Viccei risked staying in the UK and thus got caught was that he loved this car so much he was exporting it. He'd been on the run for months before and not been caught so the car could well have been the reason for his downfall. Other than the BCA photo above which I've only recently seen, the only other pictures of the car are from the shootout which were in all the papers.

Funny this came up. I recently discovered a vague family connection to the guy and then spent that afternoon tracking down the car with some far fetched idea of trying to buy it.

As above I believe it's in south-east Asia.

I remember it well as I was the underbidder on the car at BCA - I seem to recall I bid £89k and it sold for £90k but was put in by the police and bidding started around £27k. It needed the wing repaired and a new windscreen and I later recall it up for sale in the Sunday Times a few weeks later for around £120k with a garage called Bramshaw or Bradshaw.

I also later found that I had a photo of that very car I had taken in the late 1980's when it was originally up for sale with Bramley Cars so I suspect that was possibly where it had originally been purchased by Valerio Viccei
