Tom Hartley Jnr has just sold 250 Testa Rossa 0704 for the second time. 0704TR is a RHD, ex works, factory prototype 250 Testa Rossa with Transaxle. In this video he comprehensively runs through the fantastic race history, its formidable drivers, impressive ownership history, its features and unique originality.

Enjoy!!!

That came up on my YouTube suggestions yesterday and I really enjoyed watching it.

Really quite remarkable to have survived without being restored. Would have loved to have seen some film of it being driven and hearing the engine.

Watched it last night - really interesting.

For a car dealer, he does these videos quite well and (unsurprisingly) he certainly knows his stuff.

Fantastic video. I understand why they changed the bodywork but I really loved the pontoon and later Drogo bodyshells, something a bit different.

Any price mentioned or does this go under the heading "if you have to ask you can't afford it"

Just read a nice piece by Henry Catchpole in this month's 'Enzo' magazine. The lucky bugger gets to drive chassis #0728, the very car that won Le Mans in 1958 driven by Hill and Gendebien. Interestingly, it has a centre throttle, i.e. the brake pedal is to the right of the gas pedal! Apparently, it was set up that way for Mike Hawthorn who preferred it as, along with a 4 spoke steering wheel, this was what he had on his Alfa 8c.

It was rumoured to have sold for c$40 million by Tom Hartley back in 2014, a record for a private sale. Wonder if it made a new record this time

The 1957 and 1958 250 Testa Rossas, both pontoon and envelope body designs, were designed and built by Scaglietti and the Ferrari engineer who oversaw the initial 250 Testa Rossa project was Andrea Fraschetti, who was unfortunately killed testing a Formula car in 1957. The 1959 Testa Rossa bodies were revised/designed by Pinin Farina and built by Fantuzzi. These later Testa Rossa bodies were developed by Ferrari engineers such as Carlo Chiti and Giotto Bizzarrini and built by Fantuzzi.
