Why so little on the Dino
Discussion
My first virgin thread ,Just worked out how to upload it ,i hope . I was wondering why there's so little mentioned about what is along with the Miura, and GT40 one of most beautiful sculptures ever born ,The Ferrari Dino 246 both in coupe or spyder form is just so delightful ,achingly beautiful today let alone in 1968, words fail me ,i just become a emotional wreck with my eyes tearing up every time i see one especially if you add chairs and flairs to the occasion, Maybe the fact that i used to own one some years ago for the princely sum of £12,500 and sold it in favour of keeping my Maranello Sprint Pack engine carb 308 GTS at the time may have something to do with the tearing up bit ,I think i must have been more into the performance side then ,either way not one of my better decisions. Not particularly fast ,felt like it was capable of taking a lot more power ,It was a job to shake off a keenly driven Golf GTi or 240Z but that would be missing the point now especially in today's traffic ,would be nice just to wear it like a Savile Row suit as long as you got something else suitable for when the need for speed arises. Found another video on the "Supercar Monaco TV " Channel ,It's called "How to buy a Ferrari Dino" with Lain Tyrrell giving his expert opinion once again. Hope it may be of interest to some .Still haven't a clue how to link ,must get my son to show me ,can't be that hard . Anyone please.

They are stunning cars IMO and arguably even more so than any mid V8 Ferrari ever..I watched Iain Tyrrell's video on the Espada a few weeks ago, he comes across as an extremely genuine and knowledgeable car guy..
+1 I really enjoy watching his vids even if they’re cars I am not especially interested in ! Taffy66 said:

Morning Taffy, Iain's definitely The Car whisperer for rare/awkward Italian stuff, and a pleasure to watch too Beautiful cars and lovely to drive when properly sorted. I've restored 4 of them - 3 GT's and 1 GTS. I sold my white GT a few years ago. The GT versions are all restored to their original factory ordered spec's. I took a different route with the GTs as it was delivered new in Verde Germoglio which is the same colour as one of my GT's. There were 9 cars delivered new in the UK in this colour so the chances of ending up buying two of them must have been slim. I went for Nocciola metallic as this is the colour I'd choose if I could order a new one.

All are absolutely stunning It's a great shame so many new Ferrari's are ordered in "resale red" these days, as the older hues are so much more characterful. Nocciola and Marrone look stunning in bright sunlight, and as for Verde Germoglio, well what can I say ? Just beautiful

Yes, there are a lot of great colours in Ferrari's back catalogue. I ordered a 458 spider in Rosso Dino back in 2012. I hadn't seen any modern era models in the UK in that colour but there have been a few who have followed and ordered it in recent years. It's a great shame so many new Ferrari's are ordered in "resale red" these days, as the older hues are so much more characterful. Pretty easy to spot it in a "Where's Waldo?" type photo taken at an FOC event at Hatfield House in 2012 amongst a see of red.
