F40 On holiday
Discussion
Parked up St Emilion today for spot of lunch and wine. Parked next to F40. Covered in muck from driving around in the rain and dust. Stuff from a journey piled up in the car. Great to see it being used properly. GB car on tour with some swiss porsches. French UPS man stopped to take loads of photos and thought it was mine. Sadly no.
Was passed by an F40 last year, random country road when we came back from Reading to the north east. We also have a guy in the town that has several Ferrari's on his drive, including F40 in garage, and yes he also uses it occasionally. Nice to see them out in the wild, not stuck under a dustsheet, slowly appreciating!!

A lovely shiny one drove past us at the peage at LM, in convoy with a few Porsches and a California, might be having an extended hol over in France. There can't be that many in France, and actually being used. I do remember the first one I saw was at Oulton Park, and thinking how 'tatty' it was, and definately not a garage queen. It was along side a Porsche 959 in Martini livery, that was equally well used.carl_w said:
Ha, yes it is him, J499. I'll pop up the pics, only managed a couple as was getting baby into car and it was hot!Saw one in Val d isere in the 90’s .
Last week of the skiing season , we were waiting at the bus stop when this salt encrusted F40 came up to the local patisserie, the driver jumped out and came back a few minutes later with his goodies and off he went.
Only time I’ve ever seen one being driven.
No camera phones back in the day , but I thought it looked tremendous covered in winter crud.

I used to live close to DK Engineering, so seeing this sort of stuff was not uncommon - I was waiting at the lights over J18 one day, when an F40 pulled up on the opposite side. The guy next to him gave it a few blips... and the lights changed. The other bloke floored it, the guy in the F40 paused, the arse wiggled, and it disappeared into the distance, leaving the 250SWB for dust...
