Ferrari 328 Build date.
Discussion
Hi,
I am trying to pin down the build date of a 1987 Ferrari I want to import. But need to find out the build month before I import it. To see if it's over or under 30 years. Any idea's. I used the VIN decoder but that only narrows it down to year. I need the month. A build sheet or something like that?
Any idea where I could find the information?
Thanks

Not easy - you may get a hint here http://www.328registry.com/328-registry/
Can you get the date of first registration ?
Ferrari might do you something but if you're lucky their charge may be less than the VAT saving....

The factory will only confirm the build month if you email a scanned copy of the V5 document as proof of ownership. I obtained the build month of my 328 this way, which was late 1987. If you post the last VIN number I can confirm if it predates my chassis number. Matthias Urban's 'black' chassis number book annoyingly doesn't state the month/year of each car, but the chassis numbers are in build order.

They used to do this, but no longer. They now refer you to your trusted dealer, who of course will not be able to help in any meaningful way. A scanned V5 will now get you no more than access to official pdfs of the owner's manual.Gassing Station | Ferrari Classics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
