512TR fuel question?

Always use 95RON as recommended but forgot and put Optimax 98RON in recently. After that the idle wouldn't settle down and stayed at 1500+ (pain to drive). This lasted a few days then I topped up with 95 and went for a blast and seems OK now. I thought the ECU takes care of this and specialists I spoke with said nothing to do with fuel (as the ECU takes care of things!)but I can't think of anything else that's changed and the 98 if nothing else should just give it a clean (apart from the suggested power increase)

Only that I only use 98 or 100RON in my F512M and she runs perfectly. No idea if the ecu is particularly different to a TR's or what the reason for your high idle may be. There are some more technically capable chaps in the TR section on Ferrari Chat who will probably be able to help.
When you fit new mats make sure the driver's one doesn't snag the throttle pedal
