Hi all

My 308 arrives tomorrow from the USA. Could anyone advise on the procedure to get a Certificate of Conformity?
I have all the relevant forms to register it. It will be Mot'd this week and insured. It looks like I have to trailer the car to a Ferrari dealer. Have it photo documented etc. Then they send to the Ferrari factory for a certificate. Plus this can take 6 weeks.

It seems a bit long winded. Do DVLA always need the coc, what about original bill of sale etc ?

anyone with experience of this?

Surely as car is over ten years old it is not necessary

Don't you just pay the vat get an mot and talk nicely to dvla

There must be other threads here or in the American car section about importing older cars

Are you perhaps confusing the concept of an EU Type Approval Certificate of Conformity with that of the Ferrari Classiche Certificate?

The former is probably not available for a car as old as the 308 (and would be of no use anyway as it is there to streamline the process for cars that are under 10yrs old as noted above) and the latter is of no interest to DVLA.
