Original options question on a 328 Ferrari
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Quick question.
I notice on 95% of 328 I can find pictures of the very bottom valance and very bottom rear exhaust are unpainted. The car I have recently bought has these sections painted, it looks a factory job so thought I'd ask if this was a factory option'? I'd put these back to original if it wasn't a factory option. I do notice a few pictures with these sections painted but not many.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Kerr

Not a factory option, all models were black
+1 The lower front valance, the sill area and the lower rear valance on all of the 328's left the factory black.
The 348 TB/TS series that followed the 328 also had black lower panels from the factory. It wasn't until the 348 GTB/GTS upgrade came out in 1993 that Ferrari started colour-coding the lower panels.
[hi graham was it a local company that painted your grille?

With a lot of parts that can be removed from the car to be reworked or repainted, it can sometimes pay to avoid mentioning that it's off a Ferrari to avoid any "Ferrari tax".
Most places are okay but there are always the occasional place that hears the part is for a Ferrari and suddenly the price doubles!
