Heresy- pondering a move out of the F12…
Discussion
It was sunny this weekend and it’s got me thinking…
I’m a natural roadster/roofless chap. I’ve had my fun in the F12 and thoroughly loved it, I’ve probably put more miles on mine since Ingot her last year than most do over 3 yrs. And before the F12 I had the 4C and that’s two coupes in a row. I’m getting itchy scalp and the need to feel the wind and sun on thinning(ish) hair.
A) Am I being an idiot?
B) Roadster or something middie?
C) Something old or something new?
D) Will I be lynched if I look at something … bull’ish?

Can't beat open top motoring on a nice balmy evening as long as you avoid urban areas unless top up. Life is too short to be wedded to the same car whilst there are others which give a fresh new experience. Variety is the spice of life as they say.
I test drove a new Portofino M last October and loved it which surprised me as I hated the Roma.

Well obvs the GTS, in fact it was always my original intention.
But…it’s larger than the 812 and the boot is small
It’s a car I always wanted and then when I did get chance to have a look see with one - I was disappointed. Which was annoying. Very annoying.
Portafino might not be a bad shout at all…
I’m also thinking 360 manual Spyder.

GTS is longer and another 120Kg over the already heavy 812sf. Its cramped inside for tall passengers and the luggage capacity is a fraction of the Superfast. I wouldn't consider a GTS for these reasons alone even though its still too much money. I was so impressed with the new Portofino M which is a massive step on from the previous version.

Portofino is a lovely car, only reason that was traded in was for an 812GTS which is too similar to keep both. But…it’s larger than the 812 and the boot is small

Have a 360 and 430 spider (both manuals) - I'd take the 430 if coming from an F12 to be honest. Both great cars, always raise a big smile when driven!

I have never owned a convertible, but if I were to buy one, then a 550 Barchetta is towards the top of the list or a 70s longhood 911 Targa if the budget is lower. Modern cars do little for me.
I do like my Scuderia, so am sure a 16M would be fun too.
brings back memories from 2008 when I was offered a 550 Barchetta + £20K for my 360CS! How times and markets have changed! Only reason I didn't take the offer was because I was living in a place with no garage and the 550 had no permanent roof - gorgeous car.I do like my Scuderia, so am sure a 16M would be fun too.

Visions of driving along the coast in Italy in an open V12 manual ….

Has to be a certain amount of reality john. Prices have risen, I’ve had my fun from her (10,000miles in last yr) and my jolly lovely lady wife would be somewhat miffed with more cars arriving. My wife has patience with me - she doesn’t have that much patience!
Buy her a present of a Boxster? You get access to a soft-top and keep the F12, she gets a shiny present; win-win all round.I should take up relationship advice/counselling, I'm clearly good at it
