Hi,

I've made an enquiry at Auto100 about a 599 with factory HGTE pack. I'm waiting for the dealer to get back to me.
https://www.auto100.co.uk/used-car-details/used-fe...

Does anyone know this car? Appreciate any information, history etc as I'm not in a position to view due to work.

Thanks

Here's the link from when it was auctioned on Collecting Cars in December collectingcars.com/for-sale/2011-ferrari-599-gtb-hgte

Prior to that, for sale through GVE London Feb 2019 to Aug 2020, asking £149,900 initially then through various increases and decreases (high of £159,900 and low of £119,900) to £124,900.

Thanks for the link, good information. Obviously changed hands a few times. Gives some concerns but maybe just dealers looking to make an easy mark-up.

What is it with dealers at the moment? No call back, no reply to emails. Do they just assume you're a tyre kicker?

Hmmm. I think some are just useless, lazy, rude and incompetent and the state of the market is immaterial.

I'm really disappointed. I had a few questions about the car as it's obviously been sorn. Recent history looks good but want to get the service history prior to being sorn. Get a PPI done and arrange a Ferrari New Power 15 Warranty.

Dealer said they won't facilitate a warranty other than their own, though they will assist with PPI at a Ferrari dealer.

Then a rather abrupt call to say there's another buyer and am I going to buy the car

Just makes me want to walk away from what looks like a very good car.

Dont be tempted, if they're doing this now can you imagine what they'll be like once they've got your money !!

Buying any car like this should be a positive experience from start to finish, beggers belief how this sort of dealer survives.

Next time you call they'll say its sold and then a couple of weeks you'll be told later the prospective buyer failed to get credit and is Sir still interested - standard practise like not answering calls & emails etc

How does this help them sell? It's beyond me.

it's actually a really effective trick people fall for, very common in real estate too

there are other good 599's out there, i'd just be patient personally although I understand what it's like when you want something

There are a couple others I've been looking at over the last few weeks but this one jumped out at me as soon as I saw it. It had "I'm yours" written all over it!

Anyway, patience. There's always another. There's a grey with bordeaux leather that says "Bad Bond" smile

My old 599 is for sale at Meridien. Cracking car and only two owners from new (me for the last 13 years) so it’s the opposite of those that seem to change hands annually.

Pukka stealer is right, similar cars at official dealers are -/+15k more.

But I didn't choose the dealer, I chose the car purely on colour, specification age, condition etc. That car just happened to be at auto100

I'll have a look. Is it the 2007 car? Looks very nice.
One of my requirements is not black on black unfortunately

Yes, 2007 car. I think black on black is the ultimate 599 scheme but we all have our own preferences.

And that car is still for sale.

I called another dealer in Manchester. What a difference, helpful and polite. Nothing I asked was a problem.

So I'm going to test drive this car in December when I'm back if it's not sold by then.

So just to update this thread, I have been to see the dealer in Manchester. Very simple, unpretentious and relaxed experience. The car in question is grigio silverstone and looked really good in the photos. Up close there were some small cosmetic issues but nothing unexpected for a 2008 car. Despite the weather and without prompting I was offered a test drive. Obviously I took it very easy but I liked the feel of the car straight away. It was a little crashy at low speeds but I have no experience of any other 599 to compare. Next a check of the service history and it wasn't just stamps in the service book but actual receipts showing all the work carried out and all from the same official Ferrari dealer for the last 6 years.

So I have put a deposit down, subject to PPI.
