Many thanks for your knowledge 812 owners. I have it on my Lusso and use it quite a bit. Maybe out of peace of mind rather than necessity? Car I’m buying was listed as having it, but turns out it doesn’t have it....so appreciate any info.
Essential for me, I've had it on both Lamborghinis. I couldn't get into the top of my road without it.Adding weight? With about 630 horses and 1500kgs I don't mind a few extra kgs in weight.
Thanks all for your feedback. I decided not to go for the car I had set my sights on because of no lift. Searched on Ferrari chat for same question and 90% of owners said it was essential. So the search continues - not actually that many cars available to buy right now, which limits the choice.
Wise move.
812 is low, with quite a bit of overhang and has touched the rubber fins in scenarios where I didn't expect it.
Ramps and humps are not so much an issue, but camber changes, with bumpy-road engaged, seem to allow more diagonal compression and a reduction in clearance, so interesting to read the tip above.
I wouldn't want to risk loading the car for transportation, or encountering an unknown road while touring and not have it.
