Hi all,
so a random question, and i wont go into the details around how this scenario has come about, but if you had to choose between keeping your F12 or any Ferrari outside under a waterproof outdoor cover while on a trickle charger vs keeping it inside a garage but off a trickle charger, which would you choose?

im struggling to decide what is the better option?? thoughts welcome....

When i owned my Ferraris they all lived outside with either a fitted cover or carcoon they were always on the C-tek.
I now have a garage and they are still on the C-tek so either way its best if not used often to put them on charge.

thanks very much, i am also veering towards ensuring its on charge at all costs. basically my property in London has an underground car park which is great, but no plug sockets, my property in the countryside has a garage, but the electrics have gone in said garage, so needs sorting out, its a big job, but i can run an extension from the house and keep the car running on charge in the meantime...

its a first world problem for sure, but was interested to see what others would do in this situation....

My 355 stayed outside regularly and sometimes inside (underground parking) depending on where I was staying in London - always without charger. It seemed to do ok, but I had a battery pack to start the car for when it went flat (didn’t cost much from memory). I think I would rather keep the car inside without charge than outside on charge.

Just to add, just disconnect the battery - if it is the same as my FF, then it is a 30 second job

I did consider this, but surely that's not recommended otherwise everyone would do it instead of connecting to a trickle charger...its just a flick of a switch...

Inside, no charger would be my preference.

Inside. Also have you seen some of the booster packs now you can keep in a bag very interesting tech, may be worth having one

For me as I have lost my garage I use an outdoor carcoon and a ctek I have a dehumidifier in the carcoon so I get stable 50% relative humidity, fully charged battery, dust free atmosphere, a bit of warmth from the dehumidifier. Downside is 10 mins to get the car out.

Thanks, yes I have a Noco boost in the boot at all times, these are great, however if you end up having to use it, it deterioates the quality of the battery, that's what I've heard, not sure if it's accurate.

There but be a clever sort of boost battery you can plug into your battery to keep it topped up without damaging your main battery

If you can keep the car unlocked in a locked garage, that's my recommendation. That way the battery shouldn't flatten. Not sure insurance would be invalidated though?

I always use a trickle charge. Lots of sensitive ECUs which draw some power 24/7.

Also, I wouldn't disconnect the battery. For the above reason, modern models especially.

In the 90s, models had a battery disconnect switch. Visiting Maranello in one of my stable, the battery was failing (turned out to be a failed alternator). Mechanics from the factory came out to help. I suggested the battery off switch to conserve power. They said don't, for the above reason.

Hope all goes well.
