God Morning,

I just bought my first Ferrari. A beautiful 599 however my insurance with Admiral has took a substantial jump. Just to be clear I have owned Mclarens, Astons and Porsches.

Can anyone give me some insurance numbers that are favourable to Ferrari's or supercars please?

thank you

Interesting, I'm with Admiral (not a Ferrari) and their premiums have been pretty good.

I've seen NFU Mutual recommended on here a few times.

I find Admiral multi car very competitive.

They charge me the same for an Aventador SV fully comp as I pay for my scooter third party, fire and theft with a specialist bike insurer.

Mine is insured via FFS, c 3.5k p.a. With a 5k/5k excess from memory (that bit me when the windshield needed replacing...) - this is in Germany
My 355 in the UK was via Admiral at the time - c 1.3k from memory

Locktons have dedicated Ferrari policies but if you are used to Admiral pricing brace yourself

There are fairly regular insurance threads so other names may come up in them

I use both NFU and Footman James for my Porsches and Ferrari and find both brilliant in all respects.

Most "specialist" insurers should be able to help you out. Adrian Flux, Footman James, Sky Insurance, also worth calling the "not on comparison site" types like Aviva, NFU, Direct Line, etc...

I'd strongly recommend NFU.

They insure all mine and are brilliant and amazingly competative.

That's strange - I'm with Admiral on a multi-car agreement and they were the cheapest around by far when I added my 458 to the policy, however they gave me a stupid quote when I bought my 991, so that's insured with LV.

PS. Congrats on buying a 599, was very tempted by the one down at DL Swindon, but ended up going for a 458 instead.

+1 for NFU

We have a “fleet” policy with them for about 18 vehicles including a 550, 911 GT3 and R8 V10 amongst others, they individually underwrite each car with their own excess, bonus and limited mileage terms if required.
The only minor issue I had was that they required agreed valuations to be submitted by MIME qualified valuers that had to be prepared to a given format - not sure if this is still the case as I haven’t had to do any for a couple of years but the valuations I had for my previous provider was not deemed comprehensive enough. However the service and response has been very positive - Only claim experience was for my motorhome last year and the service was first class.

an update but I am not sure where to start....

Firstly I called admiral for a renewal quote. I have a Ferrari 599, Alfa Romeo 159 diesel, no claims, 6 points from April 2017, good area and cars parked in driveway. I was quoted £3.5k!

I was on the internet trying comparison websites. This time I only tried for a quote for the 599 because the Alfa is on it's last legs. I got a quote for £500 from guess who....

Admiral. I double checked all the information and bought the policy straight away. However I was wary something was wrong so I waited one hour to speak to someone directly at Admiral. We checked the quotation and something was wrong. The Ferrari was valued at £40k. I told Admiral the car was worth £120k so the price increased from £500-680!!! I was happy and paid the extra £180.

The Alfa is off the policy but I got a Ferrari 599 fully comp with £1k excess for £680.

The one thing I don't like about Admiral is how you have to haggle with them as years go by... this year I haggled over 1000 quid off the renewal.

I've got a V12 Vantage, a 599, Range Rover, a mondeo and the other half Alfa Mito on the same policy and its about 2350 a year. I'm 29.

Echo that I have 7 Ferraris a defender and 2 classics on an NFU fleet policy. Great service, and a really competitive price.
