hi all
can anyone tell me if from factory one was able to option the F12 side skirts and rear bumper that come in the plastic material as body color? i have just bought a nero daytona F12, which i have fallen in love with and i have seen a few F12s that have those plastic parts in body colour black, which i think makes a huge difference to the overall look of the car, however i will only paint them if it was something that could have been optioned from new, as i like my cars to look as OEM as possible

appreciate any views on making this modification.

cheers.

My F12 was originally specified with all external plastic parts (side skirt, rear diffuser, from flaps etc) painted in Grigio Silverstone. I believe it was an Atelier/Taylor made option at the time from the factory.

thanks very much, that's great to know, as i really think the plastic parts need to be body colour, my font splitter is carbon and the air intakes i think i will leave, but the side skirts and rear bumper i think has to be painted. I am glad it is something that Ferrari allowed customers to do!

FYI - it’s not body coloured in my case (contrast to match a factory stripe)

Not great pics, but you should be able to see the areas painted.

Looks fantastic. So this was done by Ferrari at factory before delivery to the original owner, did you have that confirmed at the time? Do you know how much it cost to have this work done by them?

Thanks.

Yes and yes. Not sure on individual price but I do have the original invoice which show these works as part of a £19,028 charge for some special request items.

Very happy to help. Not had my F12 long so really quite enthusiastic about them at the moment.

Please do post pics of yours before and after.

Absolutely. i just tried to upload a couple of photos of my car from my phone but i wasnt able to, will get some up tonight! it will be more of subtle change on a already black car, but makes a huge difference and will make the car look much more planted once its done.

I am pretty sure for such requests the finished car would be sent to Zanasi who would then do the work. Similar to the Speciale stripe etc etc. Hence the massive delays in getting done and the eye watering costs.

So in taking your car to a reputable paint shop you wold essentially do the same. Maybe with a better result and using the same exact process.

I'll most likely be using Dub Customs for this job, they are absolute magicians at this kind of work and I trust them implicitly.

Thanks. Rossi Dino is one of those colours that has to been seen in the flesh to really appreciate. The Grigio stripe really breaks it up nicely. I expect it will be a one of one spec. Very ballsy spec from the original owner, and paid off well imo.
