I've lusted after a testarossa since I was a teenager and seeing one at the petrolicious show recently didn't help. Im thinking again about getting one. I already have too many cars so would have to sell my 599 to make way for it. A few weeks back I was thinking of getting a newer Ferrari to replace my 599 but the depreciation depresses me. My logic is that the testarossa shouldnt depreciate if I buy reasonably well. I would do around 2/2.5k miles a year in it. what does everyone think?

Harry's garage from about 10 minutes in, discusses his running costs of his TR.

That was very interesting .. all of it. I do like Harrys garage, however it did make quite depressing viewing on the £24k running costs for the testarossa. similar to the depreciation on a more modern Ferrari.

And if you think a Testarossa is immune from depreciation then think again. Prices are off their recent peaks which shows that the classic metal is not depreciation proof.

Having owned one for 12 years and doing everything possible driving wise in it, they are great fun, but if you are used to a 599 it a real step back in lots of ways.

I wouldn't be paying anywhere near the asking prices either.

I am keeping a look out for one of these but I do wonder if the prices are going to fall like 328’s.

Was talking to someone that has owned his for nearly 20 years and he paid just over £35k from a main dealer.

My inner child likes the white one pictures in London on Autotrader that says one of only three white U.K. cars. Funny as that car was red about a year ago and still shows as red on HPI (and he seems to be a trader welling as private).

I have a 512TR available at that level if of interest. Improvement on every level over the original Testarossa and only 2,000 made (v ~7,500). Feel free to PM me if of interest.

in 2005, I bought a 92/K Testa, with 10K miles from Meridien Modena and paid £35K for what was as good a car as you could hope for. Compare that with the 250K that was being asked for similar cars in 1990...

Testas can and will depreciate, you just don't know by how much...
