F12 considerations
Discussion
Hello all. Keen to hear any good advice with regards to getting into an F12.
Would be first Ferrari , coming out of a db11.
I would see carbon driver zone and lift as the only real must have options. What’s the consensus on the more desirable seats ? I’m not sure racing seats suit the car as much but are they better for resale ?
And of course prices! Market is slow , will get a poor bid on my db11 , is f12 stock clearing at advertised prices ( ie 190-220ish for 2013-2015 cars depending on spec / mileage ) or are cars trading hands at well below advertised levels?
Any advice much appreciated.

Mine's red, carbon, carbon engine bay, carbon interior, carbon buckets (large), lift, cameras, JBL sound system.
I've toured as far as Amalfi with the Mrs in it and the carbon seats are very comfy. Personally I don't like the other seat options but it's obviously a personal choice. I don't have lift on my 458 and never needed it but I would say it's worth having on the F12 with that big bonnet. Not so much for speed bumps etc but more for acute changes of road incline/car park entrances.
Awesome car. I've had the exhaust valves fixed open on mine by the local Ferrari dealer, sounds epic.
Not sure where prices on the F12 specifically are but the market is flat so I would think deals are to be done. Mine isn't, and likely never will be, for sale. What a thing.
By the way, are you in Leeds?
Stelvio. Wet. In Race mode. Haha, bonkers. Just do it. You wont regret it. Well, apart from the fuel costs. Oops.

F12 is a truly wonderful car, I would imagine a very different beast from the DB11, much more intense.
I have a 2014 example in Grigio Ferro, with a lot of interior and exterior carbon, lift, passenger display, etc - the first owner went mad on options, almost £100k worth.
I wouldn't say there are any specific essentials except parking cameras (it's a long car with no protection) and the carbon driving zone, but clearly cars with a restrained colour (greys and blues), lots of interior carbon and lift seem to sell faster than the more 'individual/personal' specs/colour.
They seem relatively strong/reliable cars, but I would not considering buying outside of the official Ferrari network. The main dealers always seem to have the best stock and prices seem quite sensible at the moment and now is the time of year to strike a deal.
Mine will have to go soon, as I have a new 812 SF due for build early 2019, which is exciting as it's the first Ferrari that I have specified from new, so it has the perfect colour/options combo for me. But I will miss my F12, as I think it's a much better looking car than it's replacement and I think will be seen as a modern classic in the near future. And it's performance is properly mental.
Do it !

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I am from Leeds ( well, near enough ) but living down south.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, seawise. Good point on the cameras, didn't have that as an essential but given my parking skills even in small cars seems very sensible. I'm on the same hunt as you, and I've found some massive flexibility on pricing, just not enough to make me make the leap yet.
One Ferrari dealer dropped 15k in one phone call
Be good if we don’t compete for the same cars ! One Ferrari dealer dropped 15k in one phone call
Some dealers seem to be increasing prices on some of the cars I have been looking at. Incredible.
I spotted this F12 in Pozzi blue on Autorader Sunday night and noted it was gone and marked sold by Monday Morning before I could call. Asking was £182k. My favourite colour as well!

Probably sold quicker because it wasn't parked in a pond ... http://www.tomhartley.com/used/2015/ferrari/f12ber...

1. not red
2. sub 185k
3. sub 15k miles
4. RHD
5. decent spec - interior carbon etc
whilst there are some under 190k, they are tending to be leggy (comparatively)
it will happen in the next couple of months.
What are the Collective's views on standard seats vs carbon racing seats? I prefer the racing seats, but guess the car probably better suited to the standard seats?
Also how important is number of owners? have seen a few that have 4-5 previous but not necesarily priced low for it - is this a major consideration for potential buyers?
Coming from McLaren via Aston am stunned at the pricing discipline of F dealers even given time of year and market backdrop... but the hunt goes on!

I have the carbon racing seats (L). I dont like the 'soft, fat' look of the other seats and as I have the carbon seats in my other Ferraris and have toured extensively I was happy they were comfy enough. Having toured Europe twice now in the F12 (with my wife) the seats have proven to be extremely comfortable. The only issue I had was that it turned out that the position the passenger seat in is too low for my Mrs (she's 5'2") so she could barely see out, so I bought her a booster cushion In Italy this year which amused her.....not in the least. Hahahaha. Also how important is number of owners? have seen a few that have 4-5 previous but not necesarily priced low for it - is this a major consideration for potential buyers?
