Anybody know the Black Zest Upgraded Testarossa at Amari?
Discussion
Hi All
Yes, I bought the car in 2011 from a small dealer somewhere in Berkshire and it had already had the work done to it. I had the colour changed to black, (originally it was red, but a bit tatty) and put the momo steering wheel on it. I had previously owned 3 diablos, (since 2001) but had fancied a Testa, and because of the mods, with the extra power, thought it would be a nice thing to try. I kept it for about 2 years and took it to the Wilton House meet that year and used it about 2/3 times a week in London, so it got regular, albeit short run use. It sounds great, although it seems to have a different exhaust to the one that was on it when I had it, and I think Amari upgraded my wheels too. They are physically big cars, and it felt wider and less nimble than the Diablo in town, but it was always an occasion, and I loved it. I sold it to Amari, who I have bought/sold at least half a dozen cars from, and at the time, he gave me the price I asked for, so was happy……although unfortunately a long way from what it is worth now!
Sure, it may not be a car for the 'purist' but if you plan on keeping her, and enjoying driving in a 'spirited' manner, it is a lot quicker than the standard car, and just that little bit different that made it interesting……..to me anyway……I would certainly buy it back if I could get it closer to what I sold it for…….but unfortunately that is not likely!

I think you will find it has been for sale on and off since 2013. Not sure if it changed hands during the interim period.
Yes its been with a collector and now back again. The engine sounds insane and has the shove to back it up.
As the above poster said, its not for the purist, but its a hell of a lot better than a standard Testa to drive.

I would like to hear its engine!
Likewise! A 12 cylinder Ferrari engine on throttle bodies Hi
No, I never filmed the car, but as I said, I did use it maybe 2/3 times a week in town, as I did all of my Diablo's, which is why I say it felt wider and less nimble driving in/around London. I enjoyed it, but ultimately, I am a Lambo guy, and I went to a Murcie after the Testa…….another car I regret selling when I started spending less time in the UK.
However, if someone is looking for a Testa, and does not mind the non originality, it really is a nice driving car, far superior to the 'standard' car…..it has so much more grunt. The only thing I found difficult, was that it had a competition clutch, which was either on or off, and until you got used to it, could cause some rather embarrassing 'stalling' moments, not what you want on the Kings Road!! It may have been changed out by now though, I think I sold it in 2012……..

Hi Aamir, thanks for that pal, yes, it was a fun machine. I am in Thailand most of the time now, but bought a manual Gallardo in the UK that I am making some interesting mods to which will make it a fun car I hope. Are you still in Singapore or back in the UK, and do you still have the 456? Regards to the family.
We fired the car up this morning, what a noise!
