550 sticky switches
Discussion
Has anyone found a good UK based alternative to StickyNoMore?
I'd like to get my switches, ashtray, etc. sorted but don't fancy shipping them off to the States.
If anyone wants to consider clubbing together to get a bulk discount, that could be interesting as I'm guessing it's not a cheap excercise!

I used GooGone applied with a toothbrush. I had most of the switch gear done in 2 hours. The ash tray was too far gone so I sanded it down to bare metal in the same direction, looks good :-)
Total cost, £5 for the GooGone.
Half Way through
Finished
Ashtray
Also did window switches, door pulls. Still to do heater vents.

I sprayed my ashtray, and I'm happy with the finish. For the HVAC unit, I got a new overlay online, and sprayed the knobs. Came up well IMO.
It would be handy to know how to deal with the switches above though. Mine are OK at the moment, but I'm not paying to send them to the USA, import taxes on return etc etc

I did same with the switches (GeeGone), mine is an F355 though but it cleaned up the switches fine.It would be handy to know how to deal with the switches above though. Mine are OK at the moment, but I'm not paying to send them to the USA, import taxes on return etc etc

The switches strip down quite easily. The illuminated logo will push out of the back, and then can be popped back in after cleaning.
I've even spent a couple of evenings stripping down the steering column shroud. Ball breaking work, but ultimately worth it.
As a bit of a precaution, I now leave the windows open an inch to let the air circulate around the cabin when it's wrapped up in the garage. This seems to have stopped any further deterioration in the finish of the offending articles.
I took the plunge and splashed out for a new ash tray though as its so visible. The upside is that I got 60% of the price back but selling the old one on eBay! Who'd of thought....

These guys also look good too http://www.stickyrxrs.com (the laser etching videos are quite mesmerising!). Shame they are in the US too.
I'm not afraid of a bit of hard graft, but I'd finish with GooGone, etc. is not quite what I'm looking for.
Any other votes for Carousel?
