Bad day in the 599
Discussion
I know this is a potentially wider philosophical question, but seriously, WTF is wrong with some people in this country?! I'd had some rather bad news yesterday morning, so thought I'd take the 599 for a drive. That always cheers me up. Sadly not this time. Within 5 minutes of leaving the house I'd got an aggressive w**nker hand signal from a pedestrian. Then less than 10 minutes later, having parked up to get some lunch, I returned to my car to discover a guy in a white transit van had slammed his door into my car, leaving a rather nasty dent in the rear wing. Any anger quickly turned to a sense of deflation. As I said, what is wrong with some people?
Sorry to hear that OP but this country is full of chav c@nts who dream of winning the lottery and having Ferraris and big houses but detest people that have worked hard and lived their dream!
Nothing makes the tabloid reading underclass happier than seeing people lose everything and be brought down from the perceived ivory tower.
Keep enjoying your car and f@ck the scumers!

As mentioned above, people don't acknowledge the efforts that most make to have a car like that. My first job was at age 8, I worked every weekend through secondary school when my mates were having a laugh, and have made plenty of more sacrifices since to own my dream car. They seem to resent the fact that someone may have made better (and tougher) choices than them in life...
Is this a UK only thing? Had nothing but administration and appreciation whenever I was in Belgium and Germany with my car...

Soe people just need a kick in the nuts. What gives them the right to act like that, just because thy don't have what you have. It annoys me, as people just se the end product and think that you were born rich and resent you for having a nice car. They don't know your or anyone else's story. Most people work like a bd to get where they are now, go without to get a nice car or even have what they have due to the loss of a loved one. With any luck, karma will come along and kick these people in the nuts.
Sadly i find it best to own sleeper style cars over here, amg, jag r knd of things or lotus generally kept left alone, the better stuff can be the preserve of other countries where it is not seen as evil for owning something nice.
Too many people over here believe you must be dodgy arrogant and a criminal in order to afford something nice.
Of course the real way to show them is to ignore them and just use the cars but my wallet isnt full enough or my will deep enough so theyve beat me.

I'm absolutely positive that you encountered 2 very rare idiots - although it obviously doesn't help right now. As above, I'd phone his insurance company.
I do agree. I've had probably 100 nice gestures and comments for every nasty one. I was just unlucky last week. On a positive note, the other party's employer has admitted liability and my car is booked in at one of the Ferrari approved body shops. Initially very impressed with their quality of service, I must say. Interesting (and true) point made on Sky News today, discussing the possibility of Trump becoming President....
The "rednecks" there love him because he is a billionaire and is living the America dream, whereas people here hate Cameron as he is well off......
If anyone swore at me because I was driving my Aston, I am pretty sure I would stop the car and confront them...It really has got to the stage where I cannot stand being insulted (especially being Indian) and will confront all and sundry...might get my head kicked in but enough is enough

This is what puts me off having a nice car again.
If it isn't wood pigeons stting all over my car then it'll be some idiot knocking into it and it being a nightmare to sort out with insurance etc.
For now, in my battered old Audi, the itch to have something high powered again isn't quite there, mainly because I encounter such said idiots on a daily basis!

Not quite the same level but I got rid of my 996 turbo for this reason, I got tired of the negativity and darn right jealousy from mainly blokes in mpvs.
My M5 flys under the radar completely now. Sad state of affairs really.
A mates dad had a California and couldn't take it either, sold it and got a DB9 volante which for whatever reason gets positive reactions..mind boggles.
