Evening PH,

Earlier this year, I sold my stake in the business and we have started to invest the money in other areas, but Mrs Snowdrop kindly let me take a chunk of money to buy the car collection I have always wanted since I was a child and Ferrari is right on that list.

I have been increasingly looking at these F12s and they are really ticking the boxes, I'm going to organise a test drive in one this week but wondering what owners thoughts are?

Thanks

I'm not an owner but I have driven one and it is the best car I've ever experienced, would have one in a heartbeat if I could afford it smile

Was planning a video better than the one below but had some tech issues so this was all I got, facial expressions say a lot though smile

Go for it! <--- click for picture

Boot space for an elephant, amazing performance, great looks and nothing makes such a beautiful sound.

I thought the 599 was awesome - still do -, but the F12 is a massive step up. You do need to drive it for more than a day to really get to understand what it has to offer, try hard for a weekend test drive.

Long drives with luggage are so easy, there is ample room in the "boot". The Carbon sports seats are a little hard, but they really come into their own when you're pushing it a little and they sit you lower - which is good if your built on the tall side.

Handling, acceleration and brakes are amazing. Really amazing.

The steering felt a little light and pointy, at first - I was used to the 599 and my bench mark was BMW M3, now everthing else feels so wrong, the F12 lacks a little feedback through the steering wheel, but the ratio and responsiveness are to my mind perfect. Likewise having so many swithces on the steering weel, seemed a liitle confusing for the first few drives, but now, its so natural, everthing falls in place perfectly, without thinking.

It's turbine smooth and pulls hard in every gear - as you would expect -, for me nothing comes close as a practicle sporting GT (more sport than GT).

The ONLY think i'd change would be to make the entertainment and satnav less driver centric, its a GT car after all and having EVERTHING aimed at the driver and isolating the passenger seems a little selfish. For example the passenger has no input AT ALL to the audio system or satnav.

I really cannot imagine you being dissapointed with an F12, go try it. Push it up near the red line in 2nd 3rd and maybe 4th, then try the brakes...wicked, its stops! I've driven many cars that promise to stop, but the F12 really does bring that mass to a halt time and time again...without fade on fast road drives.

Trust it in the bends, where you think it might to let go, its really just comming into its own, once again all that mass is held under complete control.

Maybe best not to turn traction control off completely, race is good, more than that and you really are on your own and its a scary place I dont want to go again, on the road. With CT right off, its like a 3 liter capri in the rain......but faster ;-)

Awesome, thank you for the feedback.

I am going to speak to one of the local garages and get test drive sorted next week.

Not sure whether to buy an ex-demo/1 yr old car or order new though?

New. Then you can spec as you wish, unless the demo is specced as you would have.

I posted on another thread. Can you post picture of your 4C and GranTurismo together so we can see them

I no longer have the GT so I don't think that's going to be an option I'm afraid.

That's odd, as you were posting the other day you had it but couldn't bring it to a meet "as the missus was using it" and you couldn't bring the 4C as it was in for a service.

Still not got around to doing this as yet, we are in process of moving house and Mrs Snowdrop_ wouldn't be too happy if I buy another car.

Probably look at one in early November...

Yawn. Haven't you got anything better to do. I sold it to one of my clients 2 weeks ago.

The 4C is in for warranty work (not a service) and I am having a mare with Alfa UK. Feel free to give me a call if you don't think I'm genuine Dion.

Anyway, back on topic.
