I believe a common issue with the 550 internal finishing, is that the switches for wing mirror adjustment and ashtray et cetera are really tacky and of poor quality. I would like to replace mine and and to want to know if those fitted in a 550 Maranello are same as those fitted on a 550 Barchetta.

Try looking up the exact parts you need in the book for your car on the Eurospares website then click on the button that tells you what other models have it fitted - having said that all Ferraris of that era suffer from sticky parts

Do you mean 'tacky' as in poor design, or that they are 'sticky'?

In mine the wing mirror adjustment buttons have a thin clear coating which has peeled off. All the other parts you mention are OK in mine.

They are literally all sticky. So much so that my wing mirror adjustment sticks to your fingers. It seems a lot of the buttons are sticky too.

That is curious. I wonder why the extent of stickiness should vary from car to car? I've also heard good reports about 'sticky no more'.

You can use Cillit bang to remove the existing sticky surface, the clean plastic switch is far more appealing than a sticky one, you can recoat but most products do not last very long.
