Hi all,

I'm in the market for a 599 and would greatly appreciate any guidance on things to lookout for beyond the obvious. Also very keen to hear views on buying Ferrari approved vs an independent? What are people's experiences with the Ferrari warranty etc.

I'm ideally after a sub 20K 08/09 plate in a dark colour, there aren't too many on the market at the moment... Values seem to have been creeping upwards recently - interested to hear thoughts on this aswell!

Cheers

Things to look for

Ball joints track rods, leaking shock absorbers, definitely get disc/ clutch wear checked

I've always found Ferrari warranty good, what they cover and more to the point what the don't is clearly stated so no surprises

I'd not really been keeping track of prices but Lovett's told me about 6 weeks ago they felt they were undervalued, At Autoficinna today and they told me they've jumped up, up to £10k in the last few weeks.

I've owned 3 and much prefer the HGTE over the standard car, makes it even more focused not that there's anything wrong with the std car

Check both clutch and ceramic brake wear. both expensive to replace although they have a good shelf life. I think £8,000 for each is about the price I heard.
Awesome car that has firmly bottomed and on the way up for low mileage cars. Some say they feel to wide on the road, but a california is only 2 inches less and a McLaren 650s 2 inches wider, so ignore the perceptions and enjoy this epic motor.
