car cover and washing
Discussion
hey guys
has anyone used a washer detailer as i think that i would like to get it done professionally as the paint is immaculate and i am not sure i trust myself....
also is it worth putting a car cover on it if its in the garage.... garage is a bit damp so i haven't put it on as i was not sure about moisture getting trapped....
cheers

Not sure what car you are garaging but as you have a 'damp' garage would suggest rubber matting, and definitely a dehumidifier, even if the car has been treated against rust. www.carcovershop.co.uk/ (supplies both Porsche and Ferrari Owners clubs I believe) can supply an efficient unit, suitable for garages rather than domestic use dehumidifiers. Whichever one you buy one, make sure the air intake is at the front as you won't be able to use the continuous drain facility. I have, of course assumed that you may not have a nice tiled garage for your car (my 328 rests on a concrete plus rubber & carpet) and is always covered. I have a thicker cotton 'winter' cover supplied by the above, and a lighter cover for the summer. Hope this is useful.

If you have dampness inside the car also look for DampRid via say Amazon. It's a US product and used extensively for RVs, boats, cars, parts of houses which are not well ventilated (known delightfully over there as "crawlspaces"). The 4lb tub is good for a car's interior lasts for 6 months. Just throw away the tub when done. I've found it very effective.
