OK, I apologise in advance for being a numpty. But PH is better than Nurofen
I understand auction houses are in business to hype, to sell but it doesn't stop my head pounding when auction houses market cars as "ultra-rare" special one-of-a-kind blah blah.......when the cars in question are rare because they're bloody sub-optimal.
Because if you bought new a 599 GTB and wanted it the way the engineers designed it, you didn't think twice about a stick shift. Like puttng bloody plimsols on Bolt.
I've owned from new a 2007 599 GTB. I sold it last year. I still own from new a 599 GTO.
The GTB is a beautiful car, actually it's a brilliant car. But it's a car that was optimised for an F1 box. A manual box was and is sub-optimal on a 599.
Sure, if a manual box was/is your pleasure for a 599 GTB, terrific. But a bloody manual 599 GTB should sold at a discount not a bloody premium.
All better.

If I had found a manual 599 when I was looking for a car, I would have bought it. Nearly bought an f1, but one of the main reasons for not doing it in the end was the lack of a manual.
As far as I know there was only one manual 599 delivered new to the UK. A few years ago it for sale at one of the of the dealers and it was a hard sell (and none of the chaps at the dealership liked it - they all said the manual box just didn't suit the car - underlining what Camlet says above). I am only aware of one manual California delivered new to the UK but there may be more.Jonathan

In any case bought a different car and the next one I buy should have 4ish seats .... so might look for a manual 612 eventually (only 2 currently for sale in Germany I think) to get the V12 fix and usability in one package.

That's the beauty of the auction though; it will find its own level. The only price that counts is the one set by the last person to have their hand in the air!MDahmen said:

It was also very expensive compared to an F1 599Jonathan

That manual 599 was at DK wasn't it. DK Twittered a few weeks ago that they were getting it back in stock soon. Be interesting to see how quickly it finds a home. My bet is that in the current market of what is almost lunatic buying of low mileage and/or limited edition modern Ferrari's it'll sell quickly. The person that buys it probably won't care. Like the person who had the 599 Aperta DK currently have in stock that has done 700kms from new!
Thought the DK car was RHD?estacion said:
I asked about that car, they said it was sold a long time ago! Why they keep the ad going I do not know!
ah did not know that, so then there is non currently for sale that I am aware of. I think they omitted to say that it is "unfallfrei" was always makes me a little suspicious. There was a nice looking grey one on the market a few months ago for c. 75k euros
