456M. Observations and Prices
Discussion
I purchased my 456M just over a year ago and have used it for all situations. Jolly drives, school run, Christmas supermarket shop and taking the family into London for meals etc etc. The car previously was a bit neglected and had hardly been used over the past few years. I kept the car off the road for about 4 months whilst I worked on it giving it a major service as well as a long list of other things. Since then the car has been faultless and gets used daily.
One thing I have noticed is that in the past 12 months prices of the 456M has risen by about 30%. At that time a 456M GTA was starting at £30k with a Ferrari dealer selling a car for £33k. I know one private dealer selling a 456M GTA for about £28K. However now the stock seems to have dried up and there are very few cars on the market. Autotrader only have one. Prices now start at £37k and recent auction cars sold for £50k+ (from memory). Average price seems to now be around £40k, and is great news for owners.
Mechanically not to different from the 550/575 which seems to be experiencing a healthy increase in prices and I guess that is helping 456M prices. Although mid engined, the 328 has pushed the £130K barrier and 10 years ago these cars were £30k. This is important because the 328 is 10 years older than the 456M.
So where do prices go from here? If they are £40K is now, £80k is 6 years? Im just wondering when I can retire!

A few years ago I saw an almost perfect 456M GT manual. TDF Blue on the outside, and Navy Daytona seats with red inserts inside. The spec looked amazing. Sadly the car was a Cat C or D and the repair was poor. Still had electrical gremlins too.
Pre accident that must have been an amazing car!
