575 Superamerica

Has anyone got any experience of these ?
I haven't seen one for sale for a while but Meridien have just advertised one at £250k.
I think I read somewhere that the roof mechanism is unreliable but would be interested to hear what people think about the model or what their ownership experiences have been.

The roof isn't unreliable but the glass can (that should read, 'does') delaminate. From research, it seems this is due to the scuttle shake acting on the area where roof meets windscreen top and/or due to the original ECU still allowing power to the filaments (recall 239 fixed that, I think).
It's easy to spot delamination of course. There's also talk of the struts failing. These seem to be largely a simple and relatively low cost fault to rectify.
I'm told a new roof is £18k though..

I went on a trip with a load of supercars which included a 575 Superamerica. The owner told me that he once had the car in for a service when the garage phoned to say they'd managed to break his glass roof. The cost of the part was something like £20k!!!
It was a lovely car though but personally I'd prefer a 550 Barchetta.
