Has anyone got any experience of these ?
I haven't seen one for sale for a while but Meridien have just advertised one at £250k.
I think I read somewhere that the roof mechanism is unreliable but would be interested to hear what people think about the model or what their ownership experiences have been.

The roof isn't unreliable but the glass can (that should read, 'does') delaminate. From research, it seems this is due to the scuttle shake acting on the area where roof meets windscreen top and/or due to the original ECU still allowing power to the filaments (recall 239 fixed that, I think).

It's easy to spot delamination of course. There's also talk of the struts failing. These seem to be largely a simple and relatively low cost fault to rectify.

I'm told a new roof is £18k though..

I had one for a while. Fun car and rare. Cabin space is compromised vs "normal" 575, so if you are 6' ft + you might find it tight. My roof mechanism had a life of its own, but that might have just been mine .,

I went on a trip with a load of supercars which included a 575 Superamerica. The owner told me that he once had the car in for a service when the garage phoned to say they'd managed to break his glass roof. The cost of the part was something like £20k!!!

It was a lovely car though but personally I'd prefer a 550 Barchetta.

+1. I have just sold my Barchetta and in some ways regret it. Lovely to drive on the right day and that all important manual shift. Trouble was I did 800 miles in two years, which tells it's own story - no roof to speak of !

RM have just sold one at the Scottsdale auctions for $517,000 (£342,385).Admittedly that had only done 950 miles but obviously lhd.
Makes this one look good value!

More of an observation really.
I toyed with idea but at six foot four it is not really the car for me.

But it. You know they'll be worth double that in a year...

It was in JCT, sat next to a Black Scuderia which is out of the box. Both cars look like they have been kept in a time capsule. The tech I was with was not sure on price. Won't be cheap though!

I saw the Leeds car when I was in the showroom of JCT Brooklands at the weekend. Was told that the SA is being offered at £425k and mileage is below 1k, so similar to the RM auctions car. Makes a F12 look cheap!!

Wasn't worth it on that day! I'm a 550 owner but I've never quite 'got' the SA. Seems like a lot of extra £££ for an electric variable tint glass roof...and on a Ferrari?! Like the 993 Targa, which I've never liked although love the 993. Barchetta makes sense - until it rains!

The Silverstone 575SA had expected to fetch £230-270k,it was bid upto £200k.In the light of current sales that seemed reasonable. The 550 B is a great car but the 575 SA is a more practical machine especially for the uk climate. It goes better also!
