Chaps,

Does anyone know what taxes, duties etc would be paid to import the likes of this 599 to the UK?

Many thanks!

Look into the changes you have to make to the car to get MOT though. I think there was something about replacing the headlight units as the direction can't be changed - not 100% sure on this though - worthwhile to speak to a UK dealer.

I've recently gone through the process re importing a CS from Europe. Confirmed no VAT as already paid in the EU but you must notify HMRC within 14 days of the vehicle entering the UK - it can be done on line.

Re changes to the car, vehicles less than 10 years old need to have a garage confirm that lights are changed (either statement that switchable per OE equipment or units replaced), speedo converted (actual unit changed or mph decal if not capable of automatic change from kph to mph on the speedo) and fog lights fitted. This enables both MOT and VDA type approval. Once all thats done then you submit a vehicle registration application form and about 3 weeks later you have your V5 and reg no.

As Car Mad has explained. However there are a couple of pitfalls. You need insurance (before you have a license number) so you will have to insure on chassis number or alternatively buy a cheap plate and use that). It is not difficult but it takes time. So you need patience - good luck.
