Every day tips for living with a 599
Discussion
Cake, my brother in arms, how fares thou? A month of quiet isn’t like you, the 599 hasn’t permanently bankrupted and broken you has she?
I had a drive of a Cali T earlier in the week…she was a good old ride. I’m trying to find some time to sort out a V12 Vantage Roadster next week, because well…V12![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Brother DeejRC the 599 is still in the care of MDL. Ferrari have delayed the CCM till December so I've decided to replace the right 3/4 window to glass while waiting.I had a drive of a Cali T earlier in the week…she was a good old ride. The PPF is getting redone on the front bumper after painting the scruff from a high curb in France.
And work means I haven't been back to the UK. I'm hoping January I'll be driving the 599 again

I’m at Spa today, and there is someone trying to challenge your crown of the most legendary 599 owner on the planet !

Hi akadk, ![](https://thumbsnap.com/sc/V3ryy9Mk.jpg)
Lovely car and a rather good colour choice. Looks like he has made a few changes.
Definitely another 599 owner that loves to use his car

Weather looks appropriately scary

Thanks for an excellent thread ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
I'm intrigued by the recurring battery hassles, which are obviously not exclusive to the OP's car, and recommendations to use a trickle charger more or less permanently. And yet...
The '09 21k-mile 599 in the pic below lives on the street - ie, it can't be trickle charged - it's often not used for 3->7 days, it's had the same owner for c. 5 years, I've never seen it getting a jump-start, so presumably it's reliable / starts and runs OK?
I wonder, what's the owner's secret - luck or a special battery?

Seems like a peach of a 599
![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
For my car the long term issues were related to the alternator. Battery in the end turned out to be a symptom. Poor grounding, can also be an issue. And it's not that the car doesn't start, you just get loads of scary warning lights!
Anyway, should have a few more changes as the brakes have finally arrived

Happy Christmas

Yes, a Happy Christmas to you, Cake. Looking forward to reading about more of your adventures in 2024. My wife and I are considering driving the Portofino to Budapest for the Grand Prix next year. Could be a nice trip but basically a drive round the block compared to your adventures.

Hi WW,Merry Christmas to you and everyone on PH.
Budapest will be a great city to visit with plenty of opportunities for off route excursions on twisty roads. What route are you planning?
Coincidentally I'm planning a Dracula trip in late August, with some cross continental cruise (599 happy place) including a stop in Budapest on the way to Brasov. Once in Romania the fun roads are planned. Very early morning quiet disturbed by screaming V12 (599 naughty place)
