A need for fuel. In a 599. When you are well into 3 figure speeds.

So that’s basically after about 75 miles then? smile
I got 220

I love everyone at Penske Ferrari Hamburg love

Even though every ramp was busy and they only had half the normal staff due to August holidays they cleared an ramp and got me in

Oliver the service manager gave me his most experienced technician. I explained to him that it had happened before and it was while pushing hard but this time I was just normal driving.

He took the undertray off. Loads more oil this time. And it was everywhere.

He said this type of 'spray' doesn't come from the overflow and most likely I had a leak.

He cleaned everything and took the car for a quick drive.

Once back on the ramp, two banjo bolts were leaking and one hose perished.

It's hard to see but the second bolt right side on top has a little ring of oil.

He tightened up as much as he could, filled the system, pressurised it and topped up again.

He explained that this was effectively overfilling but hopefully it will help to get me to Stavanger

If you ever get the chance to visit the showroom, say hello from me and that I love them all biggrin

Fortunately the right side slow leak seemed to have stopped when they checked the tyre.

But unfortunately I have missed the ferry. So now I'm going all top gear and driving the long way around.

Sorry about the mixed metaphor.

I have made it to Sweden. driving

And so far no traces of oil on the diffuser or bumper.

Time for a nap and coffee. I'm still nearly two hours ahead according to Google

Great stuff and glad the oil leak hasn’t stopped you. Makes my trip to Le Mans in June seem somewhat pathetic. Looking forward to more updates!

Have to agree, great stuff. My friends think I really use my Ferraris because I drive them to the South of France and Italy. Pretty pathetic compared to the adventures of cake eater.

Hi FFinaly and WW, thank you smile

I've just arrived at the hotel and knackered. But it was worth it smile

Note to self, no good trying to sleep in a 599, lesson relearnt from Monaco.
I can hear Red saying "You dumb ass!"

After a short rest, disturbed by some kids having fun on two strokes (I wish my mum had let me have bikes at that age) I headed off to Stavanger showing off a little to the kids as I went past
V12 definitely louder and sounds a lot better. Win for the old girl me thinks
bow

Proper late night drive, just without much sleep. So between 2-4:30 I had to have regular stops.

The roads were clear all the way to Stavanger, only dark clouds that slowly went from occasional drizzle to downpour. I was very glad to be on the PS4s.

Lots of bridges

Lots of tunnels, opportunity to make noise, sorry music

And once into Norway the rain.

But after Kristiansand it cleared up enough for some photo opportunities. And the roads became epic. However local divers were absolute sticklers for the speed limit.

Tried to be creative, didn't work

Epic roads and views

Just two little things

The front right decided to drop a few psi and the pump said it needed filling. While driving it's steady but when I come back to the car it's lost 2 psi.
Now I'm wondering if it is a leak of a faulty TPMS or both. Or maybe just the inherent inaccuracies?
banghead
Definitely worth a visit to a tyre shop and get it re-sealed.

And the radio decided it didn't want to work

Something to worry about later.

And just in case any curtain twitchers worry about the in car shots, it's all hands free.
The wonders of modern technology. All voice activated. Hey Google, open camera, take picture.
Though sometimes we argue because she says "try saying take selfie". And I tell her I don't want a selfie, I want a picture. Then she asks if I'm ready and uses a 3 second delay. So often the nice picture in my head is behind the car by the time Google clicks away.

Maybe three things biggrin

I have a Becker Cascade in my 230CE that does this...Try pressing round the volume knob. Or if you slide the Ferrari badge to the left to release the control module, give it a blow and refit it.

Awesome! As soon as I pressed on the corner where the green arrow is, the radio lit up woohoo

So that's a permanent fix now biggrin

This is for sure!
I'm planning on replacing the head unit and speakers at some point as the sound quality is not deserving of such a nice car.

Hi cgt2,

So good to hear that they're consistent. Obviously a large dealership with some very wealthy customers and they immediately made me feel like a valued customer.

This is an every morning routine.
TPMS beeps at me to say the front right is low and it dropped 3-5psi overnight.
Pump it up.

One morning it was 8 psi.
Time to sort it.

This place was recommended and they were really fine biggrin
https://dekksentralen.no/

Tyre was leak tested and the valve was seen bubbling. Turned out the seal on the TPMS had perished. They replaced the seal and pumped everything up with N2.

So far everything good

Went to Pulpit Rock
https://lysefjorden365.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwi7GnBhDX...

The road there is pretty nice in places and via the longest and deepest road tunnel.
https://tunnelbuilder.com/News/The-worlds-longest-...

Light at the end of the tunnel

It's not too difficult a walk up and the views are amazing

In the car park

Climb

View of pulpit rock and the queue of people waiting to take a picture at the edge

Classic view, amazing how square the edge is
