Yep, it had been up for sale for just over a year (never a good sign!), but I bit the bullet and collected it on a sunny Friday last week.
It's missing one or two features which really ought to be standard like a reverse cam, but as far as I can tell it has the following options:
- Rosso Maranello triple layer paint
- Upgraded hi-fi (utter s
te sound quality)
- Heated/ventilated seats
- Carbon/LED steering wheel
- Diamond cut alloys (not sure if I prefer the regular alloys tbh)
- Sports exhaust tips (utterly pointless)
- White tachometer (think I prefer the standard yellow)
- AFS adaptive headlights
- Ferrari shields (couldn't believe this was an option)
- Rosso Corsa brake calipers
- Auto dimming mirrors all round
- TV tuner
- Rear seat entertainment
- Smokers kit (£360 for some crappy ashtray and cigarette lighter!)
- Handy fire extinguisher

Car looks great. Have to ask, is that just a paving 'shadow gap' or have you got a motorised turntable? Seriously cool if the latter. It's missing one or two features which really ought to be standard like a reverse cam, but as far as I can tell it has the following options:

A red Ferrari is of course going to attract attention, but I'm surprised at the number of scowls and dirty looks I've been getting. Even had a couple of comments from strangers at a petrol station - one said it was "totally unnecessary"!
Sanctimonious c*nts. Unfortunately there's one around every corner these days and they seem to have forgotten their manners.DeejRC said:
Have to say, never had that in any of my cars. Even the Swiss didn’t say anything mean when I drove the 308 down Bahnhofstrasse. On a Sunday!
Indeed - the Swiss seem to take a much more polite approach - if you're behaving legally then you're good!Ensignia needs to plan a Euro road trip in the FF. He'll have cars moving over for him on the autobahn, cameras out from the cars he overtakes and, in Italy, he'll be treated like a God whereas in GB, he's treated like a pariah!
Does anyone know this car? https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14699504
Really tempted by one of these. Any forum members thinking about selling up?

I wanted a more sedate colour, but have to say Rosso Maranello is a magnificent shade in the sun.

My Maserati GTS is far more positively received, but that won't stop me from enjoying the FF.
Cold starts are a bit obnoxious though I must admit; not sure why anyone would want a Novitec or Capristo system on theirs as that just seems a bit antisocial to me!
Bizarrely, the Novitec is actually quieter on startup than the standard system and much louder when the valves are open. Anti socially loud.A red Ferrari is of course going to attract attention, but I'm surprised at the number of scowls and dirty looks I've been getting. I've always found my standard exhaust loud and have been trying to source a pair of Lusso back boxes to see if it reduces it a little and helps with the drone at stop start traffic speeds.
I'm meeting someone on Sunday that has a pair, I just need to talk him round to the idea of parting with them. Fingers crossed.

Haha no, that was a picture I took when I collected it - I don't even have a driveway at home!ANOpax said:

I've had quite a few people trying to race me or driving very close to my rear bumper, I usually back right off and drive sedately to anger them Ensignia needs to plan a Euro road trip in the FF. I'm over a week into ownership and pretty comfortable with it now, the steering wheel controls for wipers and short indicate are a bit fiddly but love the steering wheel with the LEDS, manettino and carbon fibre.
As an aside the red paint on the intake manifolds (I think) on top of the engine is peeling? Is this fairly common? I know some of the Maserati's suffered from this.
This isn't my car but it's the plenum covers at the back toward the windscreen where the paint is peeling.

I think so too. £90K with fees. It's a lot of car for that money.
I'm drving the wheels off mine and enjoying it. I can't really see myself parting with it in the near future. There's nothing else I'd be interested in replacing it with.
I went out in a GTC4 Lusso a week ago and it was nice, but I didn't get out thinking I needed to change the FF for one. It felt pretty similar in reality.

For long term FF owners, what have people made of the digital fuel gauge?
The way it drops is certainly alarming if not entirely unexpected, but I read somewhere that running the car low on fuel will cause problems with the fuel pumps which seems like a bit of an old wives tale. The problem is that the range starts reading --- and the gauge drops into the red zone very quickly. The last few times I've filled up I've managed only 80 litres meaning there's around 10 litres still in there despite the dire warning from the display.
The range is pretty poor, so would like to avoid filling up too early but also don't want to cause any issues by leaving it too late. Any thoughts?

You won’t think it’s an old wives’ tale when you burn out the scavenge pump and are presented with a £2.5k bill for its replacement. haroonok said:

Don't trust the gauge at that level, 10litres could be 15-20 miles max, I always stuck to refill at 3 bars minimumThe way it drops is certainly alarming if not entirely unexpected, but I read somewhere that running the car low on fuel will cause problems with the fuel pumps which seems like a bit of an old wives tale. Congratulations. It looks like a lovely car with plenty of nice to have extras like the lift, dual cam, ventilated seats and semi-aniline leather which lifts the cabin to another level.
Thank you! Flirted with a couple of these on CC now. It will be my first Ferrari, likely used as a part-time daily as I've still got a Taycan on business lease that I think I'll struggle to get out of early.Edited by ANOpax on Tuesday 20th June 10:48
It may even do the odd trackday if my Lotus decides to be in bits.

The gauge isn't linear in so much as the top "half" of the tank holds a lot more than the bottom "half" of the tank. I fill up at two bars always or it can go wrong very quickly with little warning.
