Potential Scud/458 purchase

I’m considering taking the jump and buying my first Ferrari. I’ve only just began my search and I’m conflicted somewhat between a well sorted 458 or a scud (I love both for different reasons). How often do good examples of scuds arise on the market typically? Am I right to think 0<10 decent cars a year are likely to make the classifieds (excluding LHD or Imports)? Given how few RHD cars remain, I’m mindful i may have to be open to colour choice as I’ll be buying on condition and history.

I can't help you with your question, but I regret selling my Scuderia pretty much every day. It is an amazing car to drive and the gearbox is by far the most entertaining non-manual box I have ever driven - much prefer it to a DCT.
Have never driven a 458, so can't compare to that car.
Suderia is quite rare compared to the cars that came after it
Mine had 77k km on it when I sold it and the dealer drove it and said it drove much better than others he had driven (could have told me that before selling it ... I wanted to pull it from sale as I knew I would regret it, but then "out of the blue" he had a buyer and I did not want to mess him about after he effectively stored it for free for me for 6-8 months). If you get one get a proper geo on it, I had something similar to the Challenge geo and it changed the car.

Edit to add: and if they had not gone up in value, I would get a loan and buy one back.

I went from Scuderia to 458, not including the shocking build quality of the scuderia…….the 458 is a far better car in all areas.

Interesting, what issues did you experience/what’s the main parts you found to be poor?

Yes I think it was about that - from memory I gave it to him when the summer was over and he sold it in spring - which is why/when I wanted it back as I wanted to drive it again. My decision to sell it was based on a large service/repair bill and I had not driven it in a while and was pissed off about the cost. irrational decision-making at the time.
checked after posting and to buy one back would now cost me at least 220k euros, which I don't have - so not an option for now unfortunately.
