360 spider wiper blades?
Discussion
how can a simple issue be so complicated. Aldous says Bosch SP24S but Amazon say it doesnt fit the car. Chased the question via several other web sites and keep getting the doesnt fit message on brands other than Bosch - mostly names I have never heard of. Does anyone have the definitive ( preferably non Ferrari) part number for the 360 spider rhd drivers side wiper blade.

Aldous has already told you. I'd trust him a million times over Amazon.bordseye said:

He’s literally done an entire article on it, specifying Bosch part numbers and shoing them fitted. https://aldousvoice.com/2014/01/20/ferrari-360-f43...

Stupid money would be the steering rack at £11k.
OMG! £13,800 in vat. I'm going to have to steer mine less.https://www.eurospares.co.uk/Parts/196172/Ferrari?...

They re £53.99 and £37.99 +vat, as parts from Ferrari not really stupid money.

For reference, this isn't too far away from what Jaguar charged my partner for replacement wiperblades on her XF. Which she duly paid, because she didn't want the hassle of a "kind of fits" pair of wiperblades from Halfrauds. I don't know why, but I sort of assumed people with a Ferrari had a bit more disposable cash than those in a Jaguar, so this thread has been a bit if an eye opener!Stupid money would be the steering rack at £11k.

Shocking isn t it. I believe it s a pretty standard TRW steering rack. https://www.eurospares.co.uk/Parts/196172/Ferrari?...
However I also believe Ferrari have a deal with these suppliers where they can t sell the parts direct to the public till the model line is (about) 25 years old.
You could buy the 355 rack from TRW direct at a reasonable price.

I just got asked for £260 for a pair of Portofino wiper blades....
They’re made by Denso - peanuts from your local Toyota dealer! Search for Denso Hybrid online and you can find the part numbers. I was told this by a friendly Ferrari service technician when I blanched at the 250 quid quote.pete said:

That's the thing about stuff like this - most of it is not custom made and there are only a handful of manufacturers of the parts. Same with steel brake discs, you have Brembo, ATE, who probably make for most of the premium brands. Someone one a Maserati forum set up as a Motor Factor and got 200 sets of coupe discs a few years ago for a fraction of OE price.Bearings used to nearly all come from Coventry, I ordered some genuine Honda motorcycle ones in my naive yoof and they had SKF stamped on the side when I opened them.

You are correct. Most all the small components used in a Ferrari will come from the same makers as those used in FIATS and other big brands, leaving the Scuderia to make the big bits that they build their business on. Had to get a cooling system cap for the 360, did a bit of a search round and found that it was the same item, but at a way higher price , as the one used on the contemporary small FIAT.Bearings used to nearly all come from Coventry, I ordered some genuine Honda motorcycle ones in my naive yoof and they had SKF stamped on the side when I opened them.
But my moan in this case is getting the identity of the correct wiper blade - I already have one new one that I was assured would fit but doesnt. Looks very much like the ones in the ebay link above.
What we could really do with is a master list of Ferrari part numbers matched to the part makers generic part number.
Fascinated at out local garage to see the guys there fitting Audi parts to a Porsche and showing me that there were completely identical apart from the box they were in and the price charged. Sure its business, but its dishonest business and IMO a form of fraud by Porker.

Yes and no. Things like wipers, maf’s, aircon dryers - yes.But my moan in this case is getting the identity of the correct wiper blade - I already have one new one that I was assured would fit but doesnt. Looks very much like the ones in the ebay link above.
Things like ecus, throttle bodies, steering rack, flanblocs, ball joints, it’s all custom supplied for the 360. Some of it is also unobtainable making it expensive.
